Chapter 9

* Weiss POV*

*One month later*

A month had passed since Ruby has woken up and her recovery is going smoothly. She has very few scars that are not healed up completely but she is doing better than the three of us had expected. She's also dealing with the fact that she's got a metal limb now pretty well too. The only thing that she needs now is training in case of missions from Ozpin.

When Ruby heard I was going to be staying with her at Patch for the summer she immediately forgot that she was hooked up to the hospital machines and basically tackled me onto the hospital floor pulling all the needles and stuff out of her body.

"You dolt! You're gonna make the doctor's think you're dead"!

"I don't care!!! I thought you were going back to your home in Atlas!!! You're staying for the whole summer!! I'm so happy", Ruby smiles like a little kid at the toy store then kisses me slowly.

"Mmm R-Ruby", I manage to say pulling away from our kiss, "Please get back in bed before the doctors come in. That whole situation was about a month ago. Now her and I are at her home in Patch with Blake, Yang and Taiyang.

"Ruby, please let me go", I blush feeling she has a tight grip around my waist.

We're both laying in bed, in our pajamas spooning seeing the sunrise from the window on our left.

"Nope! I'm still so happy that you're here! I'm only holding you tight like this because I want to make sure I'm not dreaming", Ruby chirps.

"You're not dreaming you dolt ".

"As you've told me each day",Ruby moves her face to my neck closing her eyes.

Well I do love this dolt the three months we've been together. I smile and hold her hands.

"I'll let you go soon".

I frown a little and think to myself. I also know why Ruby is acting like this. She's been out of the hospital for like 2 months, and the amount of pain she was in well its way worse than the situation I'm in with my family. Plus we've never really been on our first date yet either, but I will make it happen. After what she did for Blake, Yang, and I that day the masked man attacked us, she deserves it.

"Hey Ruby baby," i move and turn to where I'm facing her.

"Hmm", she opens up one eyes and looks at me.

"Been thinking, we've never been on our first date officially, and I want to make that happen. So wherever you want to go, we'll go there and have fun", I smile and rub her cheek.

"Really?! Hmm we can go to this festival they have once a year in the city! All the females and males will be wearing these cool things called "Yukata"!

"Okay, when is it then"?

"It starts today and it ends next week....right before we have to go back to school", Ruby frowns a little then smiles.

"Alright we'll go tonight".

"Yay", Ruby gives me a smooch and then we hear a gag coming from the right of us.

"Get a room you two", Yang smirks sitting up on her and Blake's bed.

Just like in Beacon, the 4 of us share a room except it's a little smaller since Yang and Ruby live in a medium sized cabin outside the coast of Vale with their dad.

"We are in a room", I snap back at her.

"Another one! You know what I mean Weiss"!

Ruby giggles then gets up to go get ready for the day. I lay on our bed looking up at the wooden ceiling for a bit. It's gonna be a good day today.
