The Concussion

I wake up surrounded by faces. Some I recognize, like my family, Sabrina's, and Shawn's, but others I don't.
When I open my eyes a little more, I see that they are crying, and they start screaming.
What's wrong with them? Once I get my eyes opened all the way, I see a curtain behind them, and my bed feels weird. I look around and realize I'm in a hospital. And the unknown faces are doctors and nurses. Why am I here? What happened to me? The doctors start walking toward me. I sit up but get really light-headed, so I lay back down.
The doctor talks to me, but I only hear a few words. "You...zip-lining...concussion...bleeding...head."
"W-w-what?"
The doctors say a few things, and then my parents and brother come closer.
My mom and dad lean down to give me a hug and kiss. I try to move but don't have much success. I am extremely weak and dizzy. My brother stands on his tippy toes and stretches his arm over me to give me a hug, too.
He is so sweet. Except when he pranks me.
They start stepping away and look at Sabrina, who quickly runs over to give me a huge hug. I'm pretty sure she was crying because, all of a sudden, my face felt wet. But maybe I was crying or both.
Then she whispers, "I guess the date was good," looking back at Shawn, "and bad. Oh! I hope you get better soon."
I tried to smile, and I think I managed it, or at least she knew I was trying because she smiles back and gets up.
When Sabrina walks away, Shawn starts to walk to me. When he reaches me, he leans down to give me a hug.
He whispers, "I know I had a great time zip-lining, but I'm sorry about what happened. We don't have to go back if you don't want to."
Soon after, he kisses me on the check.

I wake up and my dad is sitting there at the end of the hospital bed. No one else is there. Just him. He was watching me so closely that as soon as my eyes opened, he jumped up and came a little closer.
He told me that I passed out when Shawn got up.
Was it because he kissed me or did I just pass out?
I slowly sit up and ask, "Where is everybody?"
"Mom and Henry went home to get some sleep because, after all, it is 2 a.m."
"Dad! You need to get some rest. You have students to teach," I screamed.
"Don't get so worked up. The doctor said you need to take it easy. Once you go back to sleep, I will go home and sleep for a few hours. Mom will probably come back up here soon after that, though," he responded calmly.
"No. You need to get some sleep and stop worrying about me. It can't be that bad."
He was silent.
"Is it bad?" I asked, really confused, "It was just a concussion, right? People get those all the time, right?"
Again, silence.
I lay my head down and close my eyes.
I'm close to falling asleep when I finally hear me dad's voice, "You have at least a grade 3 concussion. There is possibly a blood clot in your brain because of all the bleeding. They want to do a CT scan today to find out for sure."
I lay there close to tears.
"Get some rest, honey. It will all be fine."
