"oh- hi hwanwoong." jiah said with a smile to be polite, despite the fear of the rollercoaster that was building up in her.

hwanwoong raised his eyebrows at her, his face was void of expression. his shoulders lifted slightly in a shrug and he looked down at his safety belt, barely acknowledging her existence.

jiah blinked a few times before shaking her head. the sound of machinery started sounding and she trembled slightly.

the worker announced that the ride was going to start. the train began ascending upwards, going slowly.

"it's fine. it's just a ride. it's not even scary." jiah muttered to herself. hwanwoong glanced at her briefly after he heard her.

she could hear eunhye and seulin laughing loudly up front and she highkey wished she was one of them at this moment.

she repeated her "it's fine. it's just a ride" mantra a few times until the ride came to a stop right at the edge of the sudden drop.

the world went silent and time seemed to have stopped. jiah heard hwanwoong exhale loudly before reluctantly holding out his hand to her.

grateful for anything, jiah grabbed onto it quickly and the rollercoaster shot downwards. screams coming from all directions except from a certain boy on her right.

when the ride finally came to a stop after going a second round, jiah slowly let go of hwanwoong's hand. he rubbed his hand on his jeans before undoing the safety belt and getting out of the car, again without another word to her.

jiah caught up with seulin and eunhye who were excitedly talking about the ride. they both brightened up even more after seeing her.

"you loved it, did you?" eunhye said imediately.

"uh- not really? that was horrible! that guy hwanwoong was next to me though." jiah relayed the hand offering happening to her friends as they exited the rollercoaster area.

"ooh- i ship!" eunhye said, clasping her hands together in excitement.

"eunhye please. he's weird." jiah held up a hand to stop her very extra friend.

"is it just me or is the kang daniel waving at us?" seulin said, breaking her silence as she stared straight ahead.

jiah and eunhye followed her line of sight and confirmed that indeed, the kang daniel was waving at them while taedong and hwanwoong stood there looking awkward. both the girls raised their hands to wave back.

"wave back, stupid!" jiah nudged seulin.

"oh no, he's calling us to go over there. run away." seulin said urgently, trying to find a way out of this.

"relax, we're with you." eunhye said, linking arms with seulin and jiah and made a beeline towards the boys.
