CAMERON'S POV
I looked at her, confused. Did she just say cancer? No, she couldn't have. Nash never told me anything about this.
"I'm sorry, what was that?" I asked again.
"It's Cancer, darling. Now, are you his brother?" She questioned back.
"I'm his boyfriend." I answered shyly.
"Boyfriend? That's cute. Can you contact any of his relatives at the moment?"
"I can but they won't be able to get here."
"Why so?"
"They can't drive, our parents aren't around."
"Nonsense. I can pick them up." Jon barged in.
"Can you even drive?" I asked him.
"Of course! How did you think I got to the party?" He answered. The nurse looked at us and I tossed him my keys,
"Be careful." I advised, he chuckled and excited the room.
"So, this cancer. Did it just pop out from nowhere?" I asked the female nurse while she examines the heart monitor, writing things down.
"Actually, no. Mr. Grier here, was born with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, which is the reason for his pale complexion. He has been receiving treatment from the moment he was born until a year ago, when he wanted to live naturally. 'If it's my time to go, then it's time to go. I won't have to argue, I've lived my life.' these are his words when he finally decided to stop the treatment. Ever since, the only thing fighting the cancer is his immune system, which broke down today. The medication is reeboting the system, recharging it to fight against the cancer again. But we can only do this once, if it is performed more than once, he will have to suffer great consequences." She explained. I breathed deeply, this can't be happening, this can't be real.
"What's your name?" She asked me.
"Cameron. Cameron Dallas." I answered.
"Well, Cameron. The best you can do is spend your time with him, and possibly let him do all the things he wants to do before his time comes." She advised.
"O-okay." I stuttered. She took a couple of needles and vials with her and exited the room.
I looked at Nash who was still sleepin-I mean, unconscious. His chest was moving, he was still breathing. His heartbeat is normal, platelet count: stable. So far, nothing's going wrong.
Yet.
I moved near his bed, laying my head beside his body. Then I drifted off to sleep.
