NASH'S POV

"You're kidding me." I said.

"Nope." Jacob said, holding the two rings in his hand. "I'm dead serious."

I bit my lip as my eyes begin to water. "Jacob..."

He smiles and wraps his arms around me. I stretch and pull him in for a tight hug too.

I've been in this hospital for a long-ass time now. But today is my luckiest day for multiple reasons.

I'm getting released today because I forced them to, I'm actually up on my feet right now. There's no way out of this even if I continue with the medication. I'm going to die...soon. And I don't want to spend my last days trapped in this room, under the covers and watching TV. I want to spend them running around parks, shopping, and maybe skydiving. Who knows?

I squeal as he places the two silver rings on the palm of my hands and pull him in for another hug again.

"You are the fucking best." I said.

"What can I say?" He shrugs. "I'm Jacob Whitesides after all."

"How much did these even cost?"

He places his index finger over his lips. "Not telling."

"Fine." I groan, but my smile comes back again. "I wanna go there and propose to him."

"Easy, tiger." He chuckles. "You're only seventeen."

"So?"

"I think it's appropriate that Cam proposes to you since he's already legal. Then you guys will be engaged, waiting for you to turn eighteen, then you get married."

I smiled. "The. Best."

He smacks my butt and opens the door. "Now get in there and see your boyfriend."

"Aye aye, captain." I saluted.

I walked through the halls, it's a nice feeling having your legs again. I've been in a bed for weeks and it's nice to feel the wind crash against your skin as you walk.

I got to Cam's room...well...in front of it at least. I was nervous...I don't know why. Maybe because I'm the reason all of this happened. I'm the reason Cam got shot. I'm the reason Jennifer became bat-shit crazy. It's all me, all on me.

I stood there, an inch away from the Glass door, I could see his body from here, but he was facing the other way. I looked down at the rings, one on either hand.

Is Cam the one?

Do I really want to marry him?

Is he the man I want to see every morning, when I wake up?

Is he the man I want to spend eternity with?

I shook my head.

What am I thinking?

I am absolutely, definitely, without a doubt, surely, one-hundred-and-two-percent positive that he is the one.

"Excuse me sir, can you please step away from the door?" A nurse reprimands me.

I rolled my eyes and barged in the room.

He's there.

Sleeping.

Peaceful.

I let my eyes feast on him...and not in the dirty way...maybe. I examine him, the mountain of bandages on his chest, the heart monitor beside him and the numerous bottles, named with complex words.
