Chapter 15

       The man looks at me with tears in his eyes. It can't be. I thought... I thought my dad was dead. I thought he died! Ren gives a dark chuckle.

" Well well well looks like we have ourselves a little family reunion here. I should've prepared a big dinner or something." Ren says with a sarcastic smirk. 

     I turn towards him and glare.

" You're rude and just plain wrong! Now give me answers, right now! Why the hell do you have my dad, who I thought died?!? And why did you take my mom???!" I ask out angrily in a loud voice. He raises an eyebrow at me.

" Your father is very important in the supernatural world, and I know you have some of his gifts." He replies, causing my parents to look at me with admiration. " Now as for your mother. I made a deal with your father long ago. Which is why he had to fake his death, what he did for me would compromise his family. The deal I had made with him was once I was finished he could return back to his family." He explains.

       I cross my arms and stare at him. He's kept my dad for this many years. For what? His supernatural insight? For that long? This is a lot to take in.

" What did you even need him for? Why so long? Why couldn't we at least know something about it?! Do you know what it's like to go without a dad for seven years? Why fake it as a murder?" I ramble, asking questions in confusion and aggravation.

" I know now it was wrong, but worst could've happened to you and your mother. Your father helped me with some of my personal problems and with some information I needed." Ren says, looking at me sincerely.

       A long sigh leaves my lips, as I look around at Ren and my parents. I need Xavier. Wait. Why do I need him? Maybe because he makes you feel better and you want him to comfort you. Maybe because you love him.  Love? I shakey head out of the trance. Now is not the time to be thinking about Xavier. 

" Well can we all go home now?" I ask crossing my arms. This is so much to take in and I really can't stand Ren. Ren nods and let's my mom and dad loose.

          We all go down stairs, then me and my parents go out to the car while Ren watches us from the porch. I glare at Ren as I get into the drivers seat. After starting the car I lock the doors and slowly start to pull out of the driveway.

          The silence is almost deafening as we make our way home. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around all this. My dad is still alive. Although I'm very confused, I'm so happy. The anger towards Ren slowly fades as I pull into our driveway and we all get out.

" I'm sorry that I couldn't tell y'all." My dad says quietly and wraps me and my mom in a tight hug. My mom just nods and I stay quiet as we hug him back. After a few minutes of hugging we make our way inside.

         That evening my parents and I sat in the living room and talked about everything. I filled dad in on all that happened during my school life and the new job I started. I've missed him so much. I can't believe he's actually alive!

My phone buzzes and I pull it out of my back pocket. Xavier.

Hey is everything okay? I didn't see you at work....  I sigh.

A lot had happened.... Come by now. You'll be happy to see someone.

        With that I put my phone away and look to my dad with a smile. It won't take long for Xavier to show up and when he does, I'm sure he and my dad will be happy. I look to my mom, I haven't seen her this happy in forever. As we're sitting there talking more the doorbell rings. None other than Xavier.
