Chapter 16: Why?

Minho was brought to the castle after his village was burned to the ground, he had two younger brothers who were ripped from his arms as he was knocked out by vampires.

He was 17

He woke up on a cold floor, his head was wrenched up by his hair and he was looking into the eyes of a small boy.

He was extremely confused.

The boy spoke softly.

"Wolf, bow to me, your new master."

Minho looked into the eye of the boy, no sarcasm was detected.

"No." Minho muttered out.

"Guards." the boy said snapping his fingers.
Within seconds two guards held him in their hands.

The stripped him of his shirt.
The boy walked behind him.
Minho felt a searing pain on his back.
A knife was being dragged against his skin.

The small boy got closer to his ear.

"This is what happens when you disobey me."

That was the last thing Minho heard before he passed out.

The next time Minho woke up, he woke up to the face of another.

"Wake up wolfie, we have stuff to do."

Minho sat up slowly, his back still hurt but not as bad, thank god for werewolf fast healing.

"W-Who are you?" asked Minho rubbing his head.

"Second in command of the royal vampire guards, Hyun-woo" said Hyun-woo scratching his neck.

Hyun-woo continued to tell Minho many things about Taemin and life in the castle.

"Taemin doesn't actually look like a child he has the ability to change what age he looks, and he wasn't always so horrible I think it's gotten worse due to-.. Certain circumstances.." Hyun-woo finished the second part of his sentence quietly as Taemin entered the room.

Minho looked at the man entering the room with confusion, it wasn't until Hyun-woo bowed to the man that Minho caught on that he was Taemin, so he bowed as well.

"Hyun-woo have you been good lately?" Tamein asked.

"I hope so your highness." said Hyun-woo.

"Hm." said Taemin with a thoughtful sigh.

"Come here." Taemin beckoned Hyun-woo closer.

"Yes my lord." said Hyun-woo coming closer.

Taemin reached out toward Hyun-woo putting his hands on Hyun-Woo's chest.

Minho watched with wide eyes.

In an instant Taemin wrenched Hyun woo close and bit into the soft flesh of his neck making Hyun-Woo scream and Minho flinch.

Minho could do nothing but watch Taemin steadily drink from Hyun-woo before dropping his lifeless body on the floor.

Taemin wiped his mouth before looking at Minho.

"I hope you won't dissapoint me."

With that, Taemin walked out of the room.

Minho sat there stunned he didn't know what to do, he felt like crying, like screaming but he didn't want to risk having the same fate as Hyun-woo

He stole one more glance at the dead body next to him before he got up and walked to the door where two guards were ready to escort him back to his room.
