The Mayor and his family hosted the Fire Lord and his most trusted General at their house. They were eating dinner while Morishita's wife asked Yoko some questions "So you're both from the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom?"
"Not exactly." Yoko responded "My mother and father are both from the Fire Nation, all my father's ancestors are from Fire Nation, at least that's what I know. But my mother's blood goes to the Earth Kingdom, my grandmother is like me, for example. She can both bend fire and earth. That's why my eyes have two different colours."
"Your girlfriend is the walking version of the colonies." Kori said to Zuko "And yet you support the movement."
Zuko looked away, not saying anything. Yoko held his hand "Wanna go out for some fresh air?" she whispered. He nodded. The couple stood up "If you excuse us," Yoko said, Morishita's wife nodded, and they went to the front porch. Zuko took a deep breath.
"I don't know what to do now." he muttered "But I started to feel sorry about supporting the movement that is about to destroy their life. It feels wrong to support it."
"I told you that your mind would chance." Yoko said "I've never supported it in the first place."
"You were right, again." Zuko said as he looked into Yoko's eyes "It's not wrong to have one culture mixed with the other. It's a shame that the scales fell from my eyes after a year."
Yoko stood on her fingertips and planted a kiss on his lips "Better late than never." she whispered "It's nice to know that you can see the things that I see, too."
"I'm too lucky to have you with me," he whispered as he placed his hands on her hips "I don't know what I would do without you."
"You'd probably be lost."
"I think you'd make a better Fire Lord than me."
"Hey, don't say things like that," Yoko said "I've seen three Fire Lords, and you are really the best one. And you will be the best Fire Lord in the Fire Nation history."
"How can you be so sure?" Zuko asked.
"You're rebuilding the world from its ashes," Yoko responded "Do you think this is something easy? Probably none of the past Fire Lords had a weight like this on their shoulders."
"Talking with you makes me feel better, Yoko." he said, smiling gratefully "Makes me feel a lot better."
"You need someone to be on your side these days, someone to be with you no matter how things may seem to get worse."
Zuko leaned, and closed the distance between their lips. They kissed long but soft, Yoko pulled back slowly when she was out of air. Zuko kissed her forehead "I love you." he whispered.
Yoko closed her eyes as she placed her head on his chest as he hugged her "I know," she whispered back.

Soon, Zuko withdrew his support from the Harmony Restoration Movement. Aang and Katara came to Yu Dao, when Zuko and Yoko found them Katara was attacking the soldiers. Zuko ran and held Katara's hands "Katara, stop!" he said.
"Let go, Zuko! You're hurting me! Don't make me hurt you back!" Katara said. Yoko assumed her fighting stance.
"I'm hurting you?" Zuko asked "What are you doing to my soldiers? My people?"
"Let go of her, Zuko! She said you're hurting her!" Aang said, his voice loud.
"First, she has to agree to stop attacking my people!" Zuko responded.
