Jaden slowly opened the door to the smell of old books, an office, and Japanese Cherry Blossom fragrance. With Daniel close by his side, hand on his small shoulder, they walked up to the counter to meet Alex at the front desk on the phone and filing her nails.
''Ahh alright I'll let her know THANK YOU for calling BYE. Bitch...'', she mumbled under her breath rolling her eyes and slamming the phone.
Jaden cleared his throat staring at her, raising an eyebrow as he placed his elbow on the counter.
Alex: Hello how can I be of service?
Jaden:My name is Jaden Smith and I'm here to see...*looks at the card* Miranda Louge is she in?
Alex: Well Mr. Smith have you made an appointment?
Jaden: Umm...no.
Alex: Then I'm afraid you can see her so terribly sorry try calling first and I'll see where I can fit you in okay? She wickedly smiled.
Daniel turned around seeing the endless rows of book in the lounging area where the dolls used to stand and broke from Jaden's hand on his shoulder. He ran his hands across all the literature and tall tales until he saw something different. A doll in a white dress with white shoes and curly hair sat was perked up on the shelf staring back at him with glassy cold eyes. He traced her face feeling her pale porcelain face and noticed a crack in her forehead. He squinted his eyes remembering the doll and the crack from a picture he drew a while back. Next to the doll was a hard copy of Miranda's book and there on the back was her smiling picture and a small autobiography.
Daniel: JADEN! JADEN! I KNOW WHERE WE ARE! THIS IS HER! Daniel shouted waving the book in the air.
Jaden: Daniel I see that but I'm trying to do something very important alright? Just hold on a sec...
Daniel: NO! SHE KNOWS WHO I AM! WE DON'T HAVE TO WAIT COME ON!
Daniel in a hot flash scarred on towards the elevator pushing all the buttons he could. He noticed it didn't work so took the stairs with Jaden following close behind him. As soon as he got to the bottom Miranda holding some coffee in a mug bumped into Daniel and Jaden, dropping some on Jaden's jacket.
Miranda: I'm so so so sorry I didn't mean to-
Jaden: No it's okay it's actually my fault. I was chasing after this little one here and we...
Miranda stopped and smiled curious to know as to what one of Mrs. Dolor's students was doing here.
Miranda: Hey Daniel its you! Long time no see.
Jaden: What you both know each other?
Miranda: *smiles* Yeah but we didn't meet in the nicest of ways but I was the one who came to his school and read my book for their class.
Jaden: Oh.
Daniel: Yeah she was the one who signed my book for me Jaden.
Jaden: Okay well I actually wanted to make an appointment for him because I heard you offer therapy here?
Miranda: Yes we do and sorry if my girl at the front desk gave you any headaches. Trust me I'm doing the best I can to get her under control.
Jaden: That's alright just let me know if he gives y-
His phone began to ring and in answering he sighed sadly saying bye to the caller and hanging up.
Miranda: I hope all is well?
Jaden: Well yes of course it's just that I have to attend to a few things considering criminals and drugs.
Miranda: I didn't know you were a cop...
