(A/N: Warning! this might be a trigger.)

Third Person's POV

Normani was on the couch and she was quite annoyed by how Epic Records' been treating her badly always but none of the others ever noticed how she was being embarrassed by the other staff quietly. (Y/N) came out of the bed room and she hoped Normani wouldn't forget the special occasion this day.

"Babe? How did your day go?" (Y/N) asked and took a seat right beside the dark skinned woman who seemed very stressed at the moment as she didn't know what to say or do to help her.

"I don't wanna talk about it."

(Y/N) frowned a little at her wife's tone but she lets it slip since she might've had a bad day and she just stood up then went to the kitchen getting the chicken wings cooked up for her and got the cake out of the fridge putting every food they could eat by the table. She hoped this would lighten her wife's mood and she got up only to find her wife drinking a bottle of vodka.

"Normani, please. Don't drink." (Y/N) practically begging for her wife to stop not wanting their daughter to see her mother drunk and she tried taking the bottle from her wife only to find her swing on her. She widened her eyes, ignoring the stinging pain she felt from her cheek. "You don't fucking tell me what to do!" The dark skinned woman yelled at her wife who lay helplessly on the cold stone floor and she had her eyes both wide in fear.

She watched her wife stumble in her room and (Y/N) slowly sat up as she stood up only to find her younger self standing in front of her then held her hand out towards the older woman. "Y-You're me..." She said and the little girl guided her while holding her hand as (Y/N) was too caught up in the very situation that she didn't notice that she was back at her old home.

She walked by the kitchen with the little her and sees how her father was so busy with his life that wouldn't even spare a single second for his only daughter. (Y/N) watched how her father used to be on the phone call always that he rarely had time to see how his daughter showed them what she does and what she learned.

"Daddy! Look what I drew!" Little (Y/N) said running up to her father and showed the drawing she just did from school. "I don't get why we have to even give a damn about those people. I'll be there tomorrow." He said as he just looked at the drawing then placed it on the coffee table not even noticing how his daughter walked away with a frown on her lips.

(Y/N) frowned seeing how her life was then before and the little her walked her to the kitchen to show what happened that evening, the night that changed everything because of her dad. She watched her mother helplessly sigh by the end of the table always making an effort for her father to make sure he eats even if he didn't showed her the affection and appreciation she should gain for being the good housewife and mother she is.

She watched her mother slam her hand on the table then knew her husband wouldn't come knowing its past 11 pm in the night and she threw away the food in the trash while she cried all of the hurt and pain she kept inside for so long by the kitchen. Every night was the same for her mother her father would never come home and would only come just to get some stuff ready for a business trip as he says but she would always cry and mumble in her sleep how her husband has another woman on her back.

"Why are you showing me all of this?" (Y/N) asked feeling her heart ache reliving all the memories she tried so hard to forget her dreaded past. The little her walked her up stairs and pointed to her mother who was by the bathroom and (Y/N) watched seeing how her mother took the pills with pain and sadness clear in her eyes.

She knew everything that was happening before was happening again with her and Normani this time. She watched her mother stood up and slam the door shut when she saw little (Y/N) by the door getting ready for school as she only wanted to say good bye to her mother for when she go to school only to flinch at her mother's actions back then, walking down stairs with her head down in disappointment.

(Y/N) and her young self sat by the staircase only to listen at the shouting that was happening in the living room and she remembered every scene like it was all yesterday.

"I want a divorce." Her mother breathes out already unhappy of their marriage and her father was turning red in fury as he grabbed the coffee table flipping it over in anger as he shouted back. "Fine! If this is what I get for working myself just to get us everything then fine! Let's get a divorce!"

He walked out and her mother picked up the vase she bought with him when they had (Y/N) only to throw it at him but luckily hit the wall as it shattered into pieces leaving a small scratch on the wall.

"Why are you showing me all of this? Why?" (Y/N) questioned the little girl only to find her staring back at her and she pointed at the living room.

(Y/N) didn't understood why her past was coming back to haunt her and she stood up only to see it was her father picking up every suitcase of his as she sees little her picking up one to help her father thinking he would actually come back again from his business trip, tailing him from behind while carrying the suitcase twice her size.

He got everything by the trunk and started to get ready as he was getting inside his car with a pained expression written on his face but then tried taking his last baggage from little (Y/N) who had a tight grip on her father's luggage.

"Dad, please! Don't leave me! Don't leave me and mom!" Little (Y/N) said and she had tears running down her cheeks then he frowned as he ruffled her hair a little.

"I'm sorry, princess." He said and he took his bag forcefully putting it in the trunk then started to pack up.

(Y/N) took a few steps back and she knew this scene very well. She knew how well her father got inside the car and drove off without turning to look at her as she tried to run after his car but she only stood by the side of the road, letting the car's image slowly become smaller by the time.

(Y/N) ran back inside and she sees the same light that she came through as she ran after it coming back inside. She wondered if she was truly home and she found her wife come down the stairs with a worried look on her face.

"(Y/N), I'm so sorry." Normani said and (Y/N) tackled her with a hug as she kept hugging her wife tightly. "I'm sorry too, Normani." She whispered and she pulled away from the hug but kept her eyes on her wife then frowned a little soon enough.

"Let's not fight again." (Y/N) whispered in her ear and she sees a familiar shadow behind Normani, seeing it was their only daughter: Nora who was in her cute little pajamas. "Mommy? Momma?" Their daughter called out while she rubbed her eyes tiredly and she looked at both of her mothers.

The two pulled away from each other as (Y/N) went up to her tired looking daughter and picked her up with a smile on her face. "Is it a bad dream, princess?" She asked and her wife walked up to the two with a smile on her face then their daughter sticks out her bottom lip cutely with a small nod followed.

"Yes, I dreamt that you and Momma were fighting." She mumbled sadly and (Y/N) didn't want her child growing up with that in her mind. "We would never fight. Never." She said and the dark skinned woman nodded in agreement knowing her wife wanted to only make their daughter smile.

"Let's go to sleep, princess." Normani said and she picked up their only daughter only to sleep in one room as (Y/N) smiled at her own family.
