Caitlin bit her lip as she sat in the chair next to the eyeguy's hospital
bed.

"So now your awake we need to ask you a few questions" the nurse said softly.

Caitlin stood up abruptly she hadn't planned in standing up but she knew one of those questions were going to be 'what's your full name?'

And for some reason she didn't want to know because not knowing made everything feel less real and if it was real then she was screwed because she had told the hospital she'd look after the homeless man she had known for a month untill he had completely healed.

It was then she snapped out of her daze and realised she was still standing up and the other 2 people on the room were staring at her.

"I...I'm going to go get some- something to eat...do you want anything?" She stuttered no one mentioned the fact that she has a half eaten sandwich in her hands.

He opened his mouth to say something but before he could reply she was already walking towards the door.

Once the door shut behind her she walked stairs at the end of the hall the hospital smelled like old people and cheap bleach.

She checked one of the maps on the wall and found that the cafe was on the 4th floor.

She walked up the stairs and followed the signs pointing to the cafe.

When she walked in it was mostly empty apart from a family and a few elderly couples and a man sitting in the corner his hands were shaking as she sipped from his drink.

Caitlin walked  up to a Costa machine and brought her self a coffee knowing she'd need it to get through the rest of the day she also got a some short bread biscuits.

The woman at the till looked bored and like she didn't care about her job she snatched away her item and scanned them.

Once she'd paid she walked back down the stairs and back to eye guys room as slowly as she could while still moving so if anyone walked past her they wouldn't give her funny looks.

When she reached the door she hovered outside not knowing if she should go in or not but before she could the nurse walked out making her jump a little.

"You can take him home in a 2 days" the nurse smiled.

"Thankyou" Caitlin replied she slowly walked into the room but avoided eye contact with the eye guy as she sat down.

"So imagine my suprise when nurse carol tells me that I'm getting released into my friend caitlin's care tommrow do you know who that might be?"

Caitlin sunk in her seat and bit her lip harder.

"My names Bartholomew..." eye guy mumbled.

She looked at him and tilted her head to a side and tried to figure out if he was lying or not.

"I know it sounds like a false name but it's not...my parents were crule" he laughed bitterly "but everyone's calls me Barry or they did"

"I'm sorry...I didn't even think about if you wanted to come home with me or not I just blurted it out because they were telling me all these things about broken bones and stuff so I just said that I'll take care of you after you get discharged because I know it sounds stupid but I dont want to leave you here by your self...don't be mad"

"I'm not mad"

Caitlin let out a small breath "really? So does that mean you'll come home with me?"

Barry sighed "do I have a choice?"

"Well do you have any family or friends?"

She saw Barry tense "it looks like I'm going home with you" he muttered.

Caitlin beamed at him "your stuff was stolen and I spoke to the police they said a witness already reported it and they're is prison now the people who hurt you not the witness. Most of your stuff is ruined but they saved a few stuff they said you can collect it anytime this week and if there's anything you need like clothes we can just order them online"

Barry nodded.

"I'll so set the spare room up is there any specific food you don't like or are allergic to?"

Barry rolled his eyes "calm down smiley face seriously I've been on the streets for 5 months I think I can take care of my self"

"You didn't have broken ribs wrist and a fractured leg then" caitlin snapped.

Barry looked at her with concern finally noticing how tired she looked.

"How long have you been here?"

Caitlin sighed "well after I brought you in I stayed with you untill I had to leave because I didn't want you to feel abandoned when you work up so... I came back first thing in the morning and I've been doing the same thing for the past two days"

"What about university?"

"I take most classes from home"

He nodded slowly and she yawned.

"Go home caitlin get some rest I'll stil be here tommrow"

"You sure? I could stay for another hour or-"

"Go home Caitlin I'll see you tommrow"

She hesitated before bidding him goodbye and going home.
