This chapter isn't very good but a lot happens in it.

They were all sat around the snows dinning room table, in silance.

They'd been like this for a good 15 minuets.

Caitlin was avoiding talking to him, even looking at him, this was hands down the worst dinner he'd ever been to, there wasn't even alcohol to numb hi- anyone's pain.

Arthur cleared his throat "we may as well get this over with before I die, I don't fancy talking to you through a median"

"Dad" Caitlin hissed "that's not funny"

He waved her off "we all know why we're here today" he began and made deliberate eye contact with Barry.

"The circumstances between our children have...changed"

Caitlin took a long sip of her lemon and lime water wishing it was alcoholic, she wasn't sure if she could get through the rest of this 5 course meal without it.

"Yes, they have I don't know any of the story just that it's complicated" Nora explained

Carla hummed in agreement "Caitlin says the same"

Caitlin rolled her eyes at her mother's comment and her father scowled at her "a lady doesn't do that dear"

"Sorry" she grumbled

"My daughter wishes to break our agreement, she doesn't want to Marry your son and has agreed to Marry another I told her I'd allow it, if everyone was in agreement"

"...our son expressed his... concerns about there relationship he believes if they were to go through with this your daughter wouldn't be happy, I belive he just wants your daughter to be happy" Henry stated

"So are we all in agreement?" Carla asked sitting forward slightly and looking at Barry.

He clenched his fists under the table, he could do this right? He was doing this so she'd be happy. But what if the person she had to marry was everything she told him she didn't want? But what of he was perfect for her? No no she wouldn't be happy with him not after what he'd done and besides he'd spend their entire marriage feeling guilty.

He looked directly at caitlin and he must've caught her off guard because their eyes met.

He gave her a sad smile and swolled "...we're all in agreement"

The room was filled with heavy tension now and caitlin looked away Barry glanced down at his now empty dinner plate and his parents remained silent.

"Good, I hate having to talk about such heavy subjects before dessert"

Caitlin had hardly eaten, she'd just pushed her food around her plate and occasionally taken a few bites of food.

"So, Bartholomew as I understand it you and my daughter spent some time together over the last few months"

"You understand correctly"

"If you don't mind me asking what was the... nature of your relationship?"

Barry looked over at caitlin and her expression was blank.

"I love your daughter" he said simply

"If you love me you wouldn't of kept this from me" she snapped

"I know, I'm sorry" he said softly

Caitlin turned to her father "can I be ecsxused?"

"No, we haven't had dessert and this just got interesting. In fact why don't we take this into the garden?!" He was way to excited about this...she blamed it on all the pain killers being pumped into him.
