Chapter 27

Lana's POV

Roman held Lana to himself tightly, like he couldn't believe she was really there, alive.

Roman leaned back slightly to look into Lana's face. He left kisses all over Lana's face.

Over her closed eyelids, her cheeks, chin, nose and finally her lips. Lana could feel his desperation to feel her.

For her warmth to envelope him and show him that Lana was really alive. So she didn't hold back as she kissed Roman with all the passion she had.

Their tongues entwined and danced against each other.

Lana pulled back after awhile and looked around. "Where is Trevor?" She asked.

"I told him to go away. I couldn't stand to look at him after what he had done to you." Roman said.

Then Roman explained everything Trevor had told him. Lana listened everything silently till the end.

When Roman was finished, Lana said, "I didn't know Jane was Trevor's mate. If I had known, I would've never hurt her." She said in a grim tone.

"I know." Roman said.

"I understand why he would try to kill me." Lana said.

"It still doesn't make it right that he tried to kill you." Roman said angrily.

Lana held Roman's cheek and said, "He was mourning his mate. He was angry. I'm glad you let him go away."

Roman released a deep sigh.

Then his eyes landed on the bite marks he and Wolf had done on Lana's neck.

"Why did you want me to bite you?" Roman asked.

"I wasn't sure if it would work but I had this theory, about us being mates. When a werewolf and another werewolf mates to each other, they bite into the other's neck. They mark each other. That way they imprint on the other. Vampires do the same thing. They bite their beloved's neck. And when they do, they share their mates/beloved's power, getting stronger."

"I didn't know what would happen when we mated. A werewolf and a vampire had never been mates. But me surviving the stake means that it must have worked. When some of your werewolf abilities transferred to me, the stake didn't kill me."

Then Lana opened the hole in her t-shirt to look at the wound from the stake. The stake was already knitting back together. Then she looked at the wounds Marcus had made and had happened at the warehouse. They were already gone.

"And it seems like I heal much more faster now thanks to you." Lana said.

Roman smiled at her in happiness, he was glad that he was able to save her.

He looked at Lana's eyes and said, "Is that why your eyes are read and golden?"

Lana touched her cheek and rose to her feet. She went into the bathroom and Roman was hot on her tail. Lana stopped in front of the sink mirror and looked at her eyes.

Just as Roman had told her, her eyes were a different colour. Mixed with red and golden, it seemed to symbolise their union.

"It seems to be another result of your bite." Lana said. She then squeezed closed her eyes and concentrated. She did the same thing she did when she wanted to turn her eye colour from red to their normal green colour.

When she opened her eyes, her green eyes were staring back.

Lana turned to Roman and said, "There may be many more sides to us mating. Time will show what those are."

Roman looped an arm around her waist and pulled her in to himself. "We will find out together."

Lana looked determined as something crossed her mind. "Marcus had told that there are many more others planning my death on the council. I can't risk anyone coming for you again. I will go and try to solve this problem at the council."

"I will come with you." Roman said.

"It's better if you stay far away from me until I can make sure no one is a threat to you cara mea. I can't live with myself if I cause you any pain Roman." Lana said sadly.

"And I can't stand to part with you my love." Roman said. "I am going where you are going and we will get through whatever comes our way together."

Lana nodded her head and said, "Then we are going to Italy."

I started writing other books so I don't know when I will get to edit this one. And originally there was the plan of this having a second book.

I think I'll decide whether to continue or not depending on reader demand. If the book and the direction of the plot does not get popular, I'll leave it as it is.
