CHAPTER 2

Brent was so sweet. He introduced me to his family and honestly the Rivera family are the nicest people I've known. His little sister Lexi is the cutest thing ever and Brice is so nice.

Brent attends the school I'm going to and is in junior year (which is year 11 I believe). I'm a sophomore apparently but this system is so confusing. Why can't America just have a primary school and a secondary school? It would be so much easier to understand that way. Well that's just me.

"You're so lucky you know." Brent said and I raised my eyebrow.

"How?" I asked and he smirked.

"You're an only child. No siblings to mess with you or irritate you." Brent explained and I shrugged.

"You get lonely though." I said looking down and Brent nodded.

"Yeah but you get all the gifts you want. For Christmas, Brice got a car."

"Wow that's cool." I smiled but Brent glared at me.

"I got socks."

I snorted and laughed so loudly that Brent's mother told us to quieten down. Brent groaned and I bit the inside of my mouth to force me to shut up.

"At least you got something." I pointed out but he just shrugged his shoulders.

I saw my mum's car out of Brent's window and sighed.

"I have to go, my mum's back." I said as I got up.

"You can't leave yet." Brent blocked the door and smirked again.

"Why not?" If this boy does anything to me I swear, I will give him a connection.

"Here." He handed me a note with his digits. They looked so weird.

"What's this?" I asked.

"Are you serious? That's my number." Brent laughed.

"Oh. Well I didn't know. British numbers are completely different to American ones." I said and Brent smiled.

"I'll see you tomorrow?" He asked and I nodded. He hugged me and walked me home even though my house was literally next door.

This boy is perfect.
