Brent left to go to his lesson and I headed off to the Principal's office to get my lesson sheet. I turned around when I heard someone squeal in delight.

"Ohmygosh hi, I'm Sophia and I'm your guide" she brought her hand out for me to shake and a huge grin spread across her face.

"Hey I'm Tallulah." I kindly replied.

"Okay we've got most of our lessons together so just follow me. We are gonna be the bestest of friends, ohmygosh eeek!" She squealed. Her voice was so high pitched it was annoying.

"Lord help me" I sighed to myself.

We both walked down to the Science block and into our classroom. A male teacher turned to us and told me to stand at the front. He was obviously Mr Smart.

"Everyone this is the new girl. Her name is Tallulah and I hope you can make her feel welcome." Mr Smart said as he introduced me.

"Hey." I waved before sitting down in a seat next to a blonde girl. The same blonde girl I saw at the airport. I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned to see a guy. He had cute dimples and beach blonde hair.

"Hey I'm Kevin." He smiled.

"Tallulah." I replied and he nodded. He's kinda cute but Brent is way better looking. Don't tell me I'm falling for Brent already...

After 3 more lessons, the bell finally rang signalling lunchtime. I didn't know what to do because everyone had their own group of friends and well there was just me...on my own. Socialising isn't something I'm good at so I sat under a tree with my food, listening to music.

No one acknowledged my presence and just walked past, not that I'm complaining.

Once I was done, I managed to get to the library after several wrong turns and many people not giving me directions. This school is huge and they should at least give maps to new people.

Back home I was always the goodie goodie/ nerd: my thick framed glasses stood out from everyone and my braces were a horrible orange. Apparently orange was the only colour they had even though I did see an array of greens, blues and purples. 'Tallulah the loser' was my nickname for 3 years and that's when I decided to change. My braces were removed and I started using contacts, who knew that my appearance would make me one of the most popular girls in my year.

But now that's all gone and I'm in America with no friends except for Brent.

I sensed someone sit next to me but I didn't bother looking up.

"Hey sweet thang" a voice said, obviously a boy's.

"What do you want?" I asked not removing my eyes from my English essay that I began a while ago.

"Oh just a little smooch, burnt my lips in science and I need someone to soothe them." He replied.

"You're disgusting." I stood up, trying to move away but the boy grabbed my shoulder and turned me around. He licked his lips and stroked his acne-prone skin with his index finger.

"Get off me you dick." I argued pushing him away.

"HEY, LET GO OF HER!" A voice I recognised shouted...Brent. I turned around and smiled. Everyone else in the library looked up to see what the fuss was about and I swear I saw a vein pop up out of the librarian's forehead.

I guess this is the moment where the guy saves the girl and they live happily ever after. Well honestly, that's what I was hoping for but Brent then high-fived the boy and drew him into a "manly hug".

"Hey Brent, don't tell me you've gone soft on this chick." the boy laughed showing his set of crooked teeth.

"Harvey mate, you're kidding right. She's nothing but a one time thing, we've got nothing to do with each other. Trust me she's a psychopath...followed me to school this morning and tried holding my hand." Brent explained, laughing. A lump in my throat began to form and I had to hold back tears. A set of chocolate brown eyes locked onto mine and I didn't know what to say or do.

'I'm sorry' he mouthed so Harvey wouldn't hear or see. He looked ashamed and he should be.

I pushed my way past Brent, grabbed all my stuff and left. Wow, what a great start to my day.

"Wait, Tallulah." Brent cried. I heard footsteps behind me so I quickened my pace not knowing where I was going to go. A few tears escaped and landed on my shirt. It took me forever to get my winged eyeliner perfect, ugh.

Awwww her heart's been broken ...
