Rebecca wasn't in school the next day. Apparently she was suspended and was going to be on report when and if she came back. No one brought up the topic of yesterday, not that I didn't like that but it was suspiciously quiet. Lessons continued on as normal and for some reason I was given extra time for my tests.

It was lunchtime and my phone began ringing: it was my mum.

"Hey Tallulah. I have something very important to tell you." She droned.

"Yes, what is it?" I asked taking a bite out of my sandwich.

"Do you remember that I didn't sell the apartment back in the UK?" She asked.

"Erm yes..." I wondered what she was going to say next.

"Well when you get your summer reports in your junior year, you'll be returning home." My mum announced.

"Wait what! Why would you just agree to that without asking me first?" I complained.

"I need someone to keep an eye on the business there and as you know all the tips and tricks, I thought it should be you." Blackmail does not work on me; especially ones like this.

"This is so unfair!" I moaned.

"End of story. You're old enough and mature enough to look after yourself. Bye T." And my mum hung up.

"Ugh hate my life." I groaned as I rubbed my face.

"Why?" Brent said, hugging me from behind.

"No reason," I mumbled, "So how are you?" I continued trying to change the subject.

"Great now I'm here with you." He smiled.

"How wonderfully cheesy of you to say." I laughed.

"You know you liked that." He said, pecking me on the lips. Brent moved so I could sit on his lap and he hugged me tighter.

In a few years I'll have to leave all this behind. Brent and I may not even still be together when that time comes so why am I worrying. Honestly those type of negative thoughts are the worst.

Just when she and Brent were getting closer, she finds out she has to move. Shame.
