CHAPTER 40 ➳The Wedding

*Tallulah's POV*

I stretched my arms upwards and let out a moan.

"Brent." I whispered but received no reply. I looked beside me and found that the bed was empty. I frowned and patted the birds' nest I called my hair. My eyes widened and I shot up.

"I'm getting married in a few hours." I turned to face my electric clock and it was 7:23. My eyes began feeling heavy again and I let out a yawn. Just as I was about to go back again, Ashley and Jake barged in hitting pots and pans.

"WAKE UP TALLULAH! WE HAVE A BIG DAY AHEAD OF US!" She screamed and I growled. I used the spare pillow to cover my ears and drew the duvet over my head. Jake got on my bed and began jumping, he knew he had to be careful not to jump on me. I ignored the both of them and they left. I opened my eyes and found myself alone again. I smiled and got into a better position.

"Ready," Ashley began and I frowned, "3, 2, 1!" Freezing cold water was thrown on me and I shot up instantly. My teeth chattered and my skin was covered in goosebumps. I took deep breaths as my heart was not ready from the shock.

"WHAT THE FUCK!" I cursed. My favourite spongebob pyjamas were soaked and my hair was dripping water. I sat up and wiped the water from my face.

"You wouldn't get up." Jake frowned.

"So you fucking decided to soak me and the bed." I argued back. Jake walked out of the room and I heard him kick the wall. Ashley frowned and sat beside me.

"Sorry." She apologised and I glared at her before going to find Jake.

My brother looked at his reflection in the mirror. His hair was slick back and shiny and it made him look so grown up. I smiled at him before placing my hand on his shoulder. Jake jumped slightly and looked at the both of us in the mirror.

"Mum said you looked like me," I smiled and Jake furrowed his eyebrows, "Said we had the same eyes and nose." I said whilst touching the specific parts I mentioned. Jake smiled and nodded at the mirror.

"Didn't she say that we could be mistaken for twins." Jake remembered and I giggled.

"That was before I had my growth spurt and you had yours." I tucked a loose strand of Jake's hair behind his ear and turned him to face me.

"I love you baby brother." I announced and Jake hugged me. His face rested on my shoulder and I placed my chin on his head.

"Is that cologne?" I asked and Jake blushed.

"Ashley forced me to put it on." He admitted and I giggled.

"Smells nice." I complimented and we hugged again.

"Sorry to interrupt this brother-sister bonding but Tallulah you need to get ready." Ashley ordered and I smiled at her. She placed a vest top and shorts on my bed and left me to shower.

"How do you want your hair done?" Ashley's sister, Melissa, asked. I shrugged not knowing what to pick from the endless possibilities.

"Style it up in a bun and leave her fringe out." Ashley suggested and Melissa nodded.

"Her bangs are too long." Melissa explained as she held my fringe. I looked up at my overgrown hair and frowned.

"Do it." I ordered without thinking. I closed my eyes as I heard snips. Hair fell onto my hands and I almost cried.

"DON'T YOU DARE RUIN THE MAKEUP!" Ashley shouted and I sniffled.

"Monthly curse?" I asked and Ashley nodded.

"Mother Nature hates me, I swear. I killed one fucking snail and she does this." Ashley sobbed and I patted her shoulders.

"There, there." I whispered and Ashley put up a smile.
