Kristina's POV
While on the road, Jack and I play a few games. We occupy ourselves with the license plate game where we try to find different states on the passing cars plate. We also play a game of trying to find all the letters in the alphabet on road signs. So basically, the car ride is boring. Driving through Colorado wasn't bad because the scenery, but Nevada is mostly desert, which means mostly dirt and tumbleweed.
According to my phone gps, we're only miles from California. We're cruising down the highway with our shades on and the windows down. Very original, right? I have my phone plugged into the radio and Beating Heart by Ellie Goulding comes on shuffle.
Just as the chorus comes on, the California state sign comes into view.
"It's about time." Jack laughs and I jump around in my seat. The bus in front of us pulls off into the rest stop and we follow them, parking near the the rig.
Cameron and Nash pile out followed by Taylor, Carter and the rest. Jack and I hop out and I run in to the bathrooms. The last stop we made was for lunch, which was about four hours ago, so it's about time I pee.
When in go back outside, I see Hayes chasing Nash around the parking lot and nearly die of laughter when his shoe comes off.
"Hanging in there?" Cameron asks me, lightly nudging my arm.
"Yeah. Jacks nice." I tell him and he laughs.
"What?" I question, feeling myself grin.
"You guys like each other, don't you?" He raises his brows.
"I think so?" I admit and he claps his hands together.
"I knew it all along." He runs off, probably to tell the other guys. I mean its kind of obvious anyways but I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea.
A few minutes later, were back on the highway again. The California- Nevada boarder isn't all that amazing, but it's better than the brown desert. I look out the window and up at the sky. There's a few white fluffy clouds. The weather is how I expected California to be like, warm and sunny.
"Magcon got you a hotel room." Jack speaks.
"Really? Well that was nice of them." I readjust myself on the leather seat and cross my legs.
"Yeah, the guy who runs it is super nice." He tells me and I nod, not really knowing how to respond.
"So what are we going to do first?" I ask as excitement fills me once again.
"I really want to try surfing." He responds and I picture how hot he would look surfing. Swimming with him the other night was enough to nearly kill me.
"What about you?" He looks over at me.
"Surfing would be fun." I agree with a nod.
The next hour is a mix of silence and small talk. He tells me how his parents own a business, about his older brother and how him and Jack Johnson became best friends. I also tell him a bit about myself. Like how I was basically a loser in high school and about my parents, which really is nothing too special.
"Sunset boulevard!" Jack exclaims.
"Hold on, I got this." I quickly scroll through my music and find LA story by Sammy Adams and Mike Posner.
"I'm waking up on sunset boulevard, maxin' out all my credit cards living my own LA story." I sing and Jack has a smile plastered on his beautiful face.
I keep singing and he follows to bus as it pulls into a parking lot.
"Holy shit. This is the hotel?!" I look up at the huge building gobsmacked.
