Kristina's POV
After another hour or so of playing truth or dare and pigging out on pizza, the boys go down to the hotel arcade room. I stay behind and decide to call my parents and relax from the long drive. Call me a party pooper, but I am pooped.
"You sure you don't want to come?" Jack asks as I'm about to enter my hotel room.
"Oh, yeah. I'm just kind of tired." I explain and he nods.
"Okay, well, see you later." I smile and nod back before entering and closing my hotel door.
My room is a decent size with two beds, I'm guessing since they wanted us near each other. I call my mom and tell her we made it to the hotel and just talk about her day. I skip talking to my father since he isn't home yet.
After hanging up, I dial Maddie's number to see what she's been up to. Surprisingly, she answers nearly right away.
"Hey Kris, hoes it going?" She answers.
"Hey Madds. Everything's good. I'm in California right now."
"What?" she squeals. "Doing what?"
"I honestly don't know." I laugh. "When I went to Magcon, Jack and I kind of hit it off." I crack up because I actually hit him with the stupid door. "Anyways, we kind of hung out and he asked me to come along, so..."
"Holy shit!" She exclaims. "That's awesome! I'm really happy for you." I smile as speaks.
"Thanks. It doesn't feel real." I reply and lie down on the plush bed. "Anyways, how have you been?" I hear her sigh.
"Okay, I guess." She answers.
"Why, what's wrong Maddie?" My voice fills with concern.
"My dads just been really sick. He had to get major surgery and he has stage 2 cancer." My mouth falls.
"Oh my god. Maddie! I'm so sorry!"
"No, it's okay. He's getting better." She explains to me but it doesn't really help.
"Do you need anything?" I question. I feel terrible. That's why she's been so down and busy, I should've know something was up.
"Nope, I just can't wait till this all is over."
I let out a sigh. Mr. Jensen is such a sweet man, Maddie and her family doesn't deserve this. Well nobody does.
"Madds, if you ever need ANYTHING, I'm here, okay?" I assure her.
"I know." she answers. "The doctors coming in now so I have to get going."
"Bye! Love ya." I tell her and she says bye before hanging up.
Well that sucks. I lie thinking for a bit. Stupid cancer.
"Ughhh!" I groan and get up. I strip and get in the shower to calm down. It's not helping being around Jack because he makes me crazy, in a good way.

Jacks POV
"Hey man, I'm sorry about earlier." Matt tells me as I sit and watch Aaron and Carter play air hockey.
"It's okay." I sigh.
"It was a dick move." He sits next to me. "Speaking of her, where is she?" He adds.
"Up at her room, she said she was tired." I inform him.
"If I were you, I'd go make sure she's okay." He nudges me. Maybe I should. Fuck, why didn't I think about that.
