It's been four hours now since the phone call.

Four hours since the man threatened to take you from Tom's life.

You've been shaky all day. You had to go to the store to get a few groceries and you were paranoid the entire time. You made sure you were near someone else in the store while you were there to help ensure you wouldn't get taken.

As soon as you made your purchases you rushed back home and locked your door again. After you got off the phone with him, you closed every window and shade in the entire house, but you still feel the urge to check them all again.

"I'm gonna be okay, everything is gonna be okay..." You keep repeating the words to yourself to feel better. You haven't called Tom. You know that calling him will just worry him and he'd drop whatever he is doing to come be with you. Which is very sweet, but you don't see the point in both of you sitting around worrying and waiting when Tom could be doing something productive and be less worried than you.

It's almost 4 in the afternoon now and you've done everything possible to occupy your mind. You've put all the groceries away, and did the dishes. You just cleaned your house thoroughly within the last week, so there's not much else left to do. You're flipping through the channels on TV when your cell phone rings.

You just stare at it for a second, then grab it and look at the caller ID.

"Hey Tom," you answer, relieved it is him.

"Hello darling, how is your day going?" He asks sweetly, acting as if it's just a regular day and there isn't chaos in your lives right now.

"It's great, it's been a really wonderful day!" You say, trying to be enthused.

"Y/n, tell me what happened? What's wrong?" Tom says, catching you in your lie.

"I don't know what you're talking about! It's been a nice and relaxing day!" You say, knowing he won't believe you.

"Well, I know that you're lying to me, but I'm not going to push it right now. I was calling to see if you wanted Chinese take-out for dinner or pizza...?" He asks, changing the subject.

"Oh, umm, I can make something for us. I didn't realize you were coming over again tonight after this morning..." You say awkwardly.

"What do you mean? That was nothing, y/n. I still want to see you! Let's just forget about that, okay? We aren't going to let it ruin our friendship!" He says, frustrated.

"I'm sorry, you just left in such a hurry afterwards is all... I think pizza sounds good," you say answering his question whilst ending the other conversation. .

"Okay, I'll see you in an hour or two," he says, then hangs up the phone.

You set the phone down on the table next to the couch, then sit down and put your face in your hands. ~I don't know what to do anymore...~ you say, thinking about everything that's been going on lately. Not only are you scared about what's going on with the mysterious man sending you and Tom threats, but you're also stressed out because yours and Tom's relationship has been bumpy the last few weeks. ~what is even going on with our friendship? I feel like I'm losing him...~
