It's been two weeks (give or take a day or two) sense your argument with Tom and you haven't seen or talked to him.
-
At all. No calls, no texts, no emails, not even a personal message through twitter.
-
He hasn't tried contacting you at all and there is no way you're going to be weak and give in and contact him.
-
~he obviously doesn't want me in his life right now...~ you try to convince yourself.
-
It's been two week, but it feels like two months. Every second feels like an eternity. After the first few days of not hearing from him you started to purposely leave your phone at home so it'd be easier to resist the urge to call him. Every day is like a rollar coaster. You wake up feeling ready for a new day with new people. You feel excited to start a new chapter in your life as someone other than Tom's sidekick. But throughout the day your mood takes drastic turns. Sometimes you feel energetic, then emotionless, then you are attacked by a crying spell and cry for ten minutes, then you're back to being excited. Everyday you are an emotional wreck, going through extremes. You feel as if you're suffering through withdrawal.
-
There is one thing this has shown you; you truly have fallen for Tom. You always knew you had a crush on him. You always knew you wanted him as more than a friend. But you never knew your feelings were this strong.
-
It's a Saturday, which seems to be one of the tougher days. You don't have to go to work, so instead of keeping your mind busy, you're just sitting at home thinking about Tom. By now you've gone through the guilt and regret process. You've already scolded yourself for slamming the door in his face. You've already regretted not calling him that night or the following day.
-
You're lost in your thoughts when your phone begins to ring. You stare at it for a second, letting yourself hope it's Tom, even though you know you're setting yourself up for disappointment, then lean over to grab it. You look at the screen and see that the number is blocked. You hesitate, but decide to answer the call.
-
"Hello?" You say monotonically. There's silence on the other end, at first, then you hear subtle breathing on the other end of the line. "Hellllooo" you say again, annoyed.
-
"Why hello there, y/n," a familiar creepy voice says on the other end of the line. You can't remember where you've heard this voice before. The stranger chuckles deeply, knowing he's taken you by surprise. "I'm not surprised you don't remember me, y/n," he says, chuckling again. His deep laugh gives you the chills.
-
"Who is this?" You ask, scared.
-
"Don't worry about that, you'll figure it out soon enough. I'm sure he will tell you once he finally decided to stop this little game of his," the man says.
-
"What are you talking about? Once WHO decides to stop playing WHAT game?" You ask, wanting to understand.
-
"you know exactly who I am talking about, y/n," he keeps saying your name which is making you more terrified every time he says it. He laughs again, this time it's an angry laugh, he's clearly frustrated. "The moron thinks he can trick me. He thinks he can trick ME. It's funny, isn't it?" He says, as if he's forgotten you are on the phone and he is talking to himself.
-
"What do you want? What did he do?" You say, showing you have a mutual understanding that he is talking about Tom.
-
"He will come back to you, darling. There's no way a petty little argument can ruin a 'friendship' like yours," the man says to you, putting emphasis on the word 'friendship' as if it is something more. His statement scares you even more because he knows that Tom hasn't been talking to you. ~how does he know about our argument?~ you think. The man laughs once more, then says, "by the way," he pauses longer than normal, "you're awfully terrible at giving directions."
