Lost In A Dream

You don't know how long you've been laying in your bed crying. But you've finally ran out of tears. You're laying on your belly with your head on your pillow, just thinking about everything that has been going on.

You hear your front door open, but don't panic because the only person with a key is Tom. You don't even move as you hear him making his way back to your room.

•

You hear him walk into your bedroom and pause in the doorway. He then walks towards your bed and sits down.

•

"I know you've probably fallen back asleep, darling, but I am going to tell you this anyways," Tom whispers, not knowing you're awake. You close your eyes, and wait for him to continue.

•

He lays down next to you and puts his head in his hand with his elbow pressed against the sheets so his arm can hold his head up. He's facing your back and you can feel his breath on your neck as he talks.

•

"I'm sorry I yelled at you... You know it's not like me to do that...I just..." He pauses and gently pulls a piece of hair from your face. You try to resist the shiver you get when his soft hand touches your cheek. "I have just been so stressed about this whole thing... It's really made me realize how important you are to me..." He leans down and kisses your temple sweetly, then rests his forehead against your hair.

You feel bad for continuing to pretend to be sleeping, so you roll over onto your side so you are facing him. Your eyes open and fall on his. You are both looking into eachothers eyes in silence.

•

"What happened last night, Tom?" You whisper.

•

"You told me that you love me," he whispers back with no hesitation.

•

You close your eyes and let out a quiet sigh. You start to feel regret, knowing that you've probably ruined your friendship with Tom. You bring your hand up to your forehead and cover your eyes, embarrassed.

•

Tom grabs your hand, pulling it away from your face and holds it in his hand between the two of you on the sheets. He leans forward and presses his forehead to yours and your eyes open again.

•

"And I told you that I love you back," he continues with a smile.

•

You take in a breath and hold it there for a moment. Then slowly let it out.

•

You roll over so you are no longer on your side, but are laying on your back. Tom moves closer to you and pushes his lips against your cheek.

•

A smile blossoms on your face and you whisper, "am I dreaming?"

•

He replies with, "if so, I never want this dream to end." He leans down to kiss your cheeks, still sticky from the tears you shed earlier. He playfully kisses all over your face making you giggle. He pulls away and stares at you with a smile.

•

He moves his body over yours. He puts his hand on each side of your face and his legs trap yours. He begins to lean down and you, naturally, close your eyes. His lips finally reach yours. You instantly get goosebumps from the tingling on your lips and butterflies fill your stomach.

•

Your lips are slowly moving against his, but then Tom's kisses slowly become more aggressive. You reach your hands up and put them on the back of his neck. Your hands tangle up in his curls and you hold his face close to yours.

•

Tom pulls away just enough to look at you. "Do you know how long I've been waiting to be able to do that?" he asks with a smile on his face.

•

"Oh you have NO idea," you say, knowing that you've been waiting longer. You both chuckle, then you pull his face back towards yours until your lips collide once more. As the kisses become quicker, Tom moves his body closer to yours. You feel his hand grab your waist just where the hem of your tank top is. He slides his hand just a little bit upward, sneaking it under your tank too and against your skin. His hand is gently grabbing you just above your waist now and his skin is soft against yours. You grab his hair just a little tighter pulling him just a little closer. You feel him smile against your lips. His hand moves upward, sending more goosebumps on your body. You smile back and then let the kisses intensify even more.
