Me and Jimin waited at the school gate as organised until the boys came. We then started the walk back to Younghyun's house. It was interesting to see the way the boys spoke and messed with each other. "Jimin right? We've spoken before," Jae said as we walked down the road. " and of course, Abi, Younghyun's everything.." Younghyun gave Jae a shove. "Jae, you're making me look bad," he laughed. "You know Dowoon and Wonpil have bets on whether you'll kiss him on Friday or not," Sungjin told me. "Wonpil's thinks you will and Dowoon thinks you won't." I couldn't help but giggle, "well sorry Wonpil but I think Dowoon's gonna win.." The two boys started jokingly arguing over who was right and the conditions of the bet.
We reached Younghyun's house and got down to work straight away. Jimin spoke to the boys as they set up some instruments for their practice and Younghyun and I went to his room to gather some of the notes we had made on the project. "Hey, you told me next time you'd play the bass," I pointed to the instrument in the corner. He sat back on his bed and reached for the bass, "you can listen to us practice if you want but.." He started to play a simple, jazzy riff. It sounded really cool. I sat beside him on the bed and watched his fingers dance along the fretboard and couldn't help but notice how strong his hands and arms were. My eyes wandered up to his face, he was wearing a look of concentration, his forehead creasing ever so slightly as the notes he played got more difficult and he plucked the strings faster. He really was a beautiful human, his face seemed to glow and as he stopped playing he cracked a smile, his whole face oozed happiness.
Then he caught me looking at him. "yah, you like me," he said, I jumped up from the bed and took a few steps back as he put the bass down. "Nope!" I replied bluntly. He stood up too and placed his arm behind me on the wall so I was trapped by his body. "We could kiss before Friday, if you want." I could smell his cologne and feel his breath he was so close. I gently pushed against his chest and he stepped back.
His movements weren't violent, I didn't feel uncomfortable, I was not scared, more worried at what I might do if we stayed like that. "Please, Younghyun, leave me alone." He backed away and grabbed his bass. "Come on, the boys are waiting." He said and smiled, as if nothing happened. I followed him downstairs. I told Jimin we'd only stay for one song and then leave. I sensed Younghyun was not angry that he didn't get his way but dissapointed. I felt bad at first but then realised, he's surely just using me, he wants me to feel guilty. I thought for a while he was actually getting nicer but he hadn't changed a bit. He was still after me, still manipulating, right?
The band began to play a slow song that they announced was called "Hi(hello)" and had written it themselves. The lyrics were cute and sweet. As Younghyun sang, beautifully I might add, he wouldn't stop making eye contact with me and I couldn't stop my cheeks from turning red. As soon as me and Jimin left she turned to me, "you know I think he genuinely likes you." I shook my head and replied coldly, "Then I don't want him to."
