"Annnnndddddddd... here is your classroom, m'lady!" Seth exclaimed happily, letting go of my hand.
"Thank you for dropping me, good sir. Would you like anything in return?" I replied.
Seth leaned into my ear and said, "There are people watching. Wanna give them something to really talk about?" His breath fanned my neck as he spoke. I nodded nonchalantly, acting like I wasn't affected. He leaned back out and said a lot louder, we had already gained a crowd as we were apparently the 'power couple', "Why, miss, I think there is something you can do. Yes... I do believe a kiss would be necessary."
I laughed as he leaned in and puckered his lips. I started to lean in, but after he closed his eyes, I swerved and kissed his cheek. "See you after class!" I called back to a stunned Seth, laughing.
I turned around and collided with an extremely hard wall. Wait. There aren't walls on the middle of a room. I looked up and saw a grim Grant.
"Hey Grant!" I said, maybe just a little to cheerfully.
"Hi."
"What's got you so down?" I know the answer. Mwahahahaha.
"Nothing. I'm completely fine," he replied, still looking like someone had killed his dog. "Oh, and, guess what?"
"What?"
"We're partners for the science project!"
"Really? That's great!!" That got him hyped up.
"Yeah. We are going to start working on it today and it's due Monday."
"Oh cool. What's it about?" I asked, as I looked up and saw his grin.
"Don't know," he said, as he shrugged. "Just know the partners,"
"Oh."
"Class, settle down. Lain. Grant. Take your seats, please," our teacher, Ms. Smith, said.
"Yes, Ms. S," Grant and I replied as we drifted to our seats.
"Okay. As some of you know, we have a science assignment that is due Monday. The assignment is to create a machine that uses one source of energy and create a PowerPoint listing it's advantages, disadvantages, where it is found, etc. I will write the partners up on the board. If you already know your partner, you can ahead and get started," Ms. S instructed.
Grant and I did research, talking occasionally, until he brought up the subject of Seth and I. Oh, it was horrific. So awkward. Worst thing I've ever experienced. Here's how it went:
G: "So you and Seth, huh?"
Me: "Ummm yeah?"
G: "Why?"
Confused Me: "Why what?"
G: "Why Seth?"
Me: "Why not?"
Angry G: "Because you two aren't good together!"
Stunned me: "Excuse me? I have every right to be with whoever I want."
Emotionless G: "..."
Stupid me: "What are you jealous or something?"
