No one was outside. So far, so good. Inside we weren't that lucky. A few kids skipping classes were out in the halls. They all turned and looked at me in awe.

"Steph!" I hissed. "Are you sure this isn't too much? I mean, those kids are looking at me like I'm a supermodel."

"Trust me, it's not too much. Plus, if you look like a supermodel then I did my job well," she grinned.

I rolled my eyes and pushed her into Mr. Bodi's room. I walked in after her and closed my eyes preparing to get yelled at. When nothing came, I opened my eyes and saw everyone else's on me. Seth had his jaw dropped and so did Grant. Mr. Bodi kind of just looked at me in shock but quickly recovered.

"Sit," he ordered briefly.

I obliged. I sat next to Steph who was next to Grant. I began doing some shit on my phone when I felt something hit my back. I opened the note.

You look hot.

I turned around to glare at the person behind me.

"Stephanie!" I whispered harshly. "Guys are becoming pervs now! What. Did. You. Do. To. My. FACE."

Steph rolled her eyes, but I saw the fear. I saw it.

"Just take a look for yourself."

And that's exactly what I did. Who I saw was not me. No, not at all. This must've been some trick.

"This is some trick mirror. I'm not that beautiful," I accused.

Steph sighed, "It's not a trick. I've always told you that you're gorgeous; it's about time you realized it yourself."

I slowly turned back to the mirror. My eyes looked bigger than normal and, not going to lie, I kind of liked it. Steph had also put some pink and orange eye shadow on that didn't show up too much. I don't usually wear any eye makeup so this was different. My face looked like a dolls because it had no blemishes or ugly pimple scars. My lips had a pink, nude lipstick and lip liner on them.

"Steph, thank you so much. I love you," I said.

"Hush, it wasn't a problem."

"Lain, you look gorgeous," a new voice came in.

I blushed and mumbled, "Thanks, Grant."

"Steph, Lain, I need to talk to the both of you after we get outta hell, okay?"

"Okay," Steph and I responded at the same time.

-

We met Grant by his car where he already was. God, he looks hot.

"Hey."

"Hi." Steph and I responded. Well, more like Steph. I kinda just mumbled some rubbish, trying to act like I wasn't effected at all.

Grant queried, "How about we go to the beach? Give Lain a little heart-to-heart friend therapy?"

"That sounds fantastic!" I exclaimed.

"Sure," was Steph shrugged.

"Okay, let's go back to our houses and get changed. Meet at my house at 5:00?" Grant suggested.

"Sounds perfect. Bye guys!" I called before heading over to my brother.

-

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE CHEATED ON YOU?!?" Erik and Jack shouted.

They might've found out. Just might've.

"I don't know all the details, but apparently he slept with some girl because he was pissed at me for nothing at all."

"Well I'm going to go kick someone's ass. Jack, you coming?" Erik asked.

"Yeah, hold on. I'll grab the emergency gun."

Emergency gun?!? Since when did we have one of those... WAIT! GUN?!? THEY'RE GOING TO KILL HIM!

"That will not be necessary!" I yelled.

"No offense, sis, but someone has to stand up for you if you aren't going to yourself," Erik said.

"Whatever," I huffed. "I'm going to the beach with Steph and Grant, so I'm going to go get ready."

I stomped up the steps and slammed my bedroom door. I wasn't actually mad, but if I did this my brothers would be begging me for forgiveness and get me SUGAR!! See my logic?

The weather was warmer than when I went the um...other time, so I decided to go with a white crop top, black and white polka dotted shorts, a dark denim jacket, and black high-top converse. I left my makeup as is since we weren't going in the water. I left my hair down because it was sort of wavy from my braid. It would just go flat as soon as I stepped outside.

Before I knew it, it was 4:30 and time to go. We had this unwritten rule, of sorts, in our group. Always show up at least 30 minutes early. If your last, the rest get to torture you in they're choosing. For me, it meant tickling. Lots of it.

I arrived at Grant's at the same time as Steph and we had a literal race to the front door.

"HA! It was a tie!" I declared proudly. I usually don't win considering I don't do any sport of any kind.

"Whatever."

I grinned at her and rang the doorbell.

"Ladies! Ready to go?" Grant asked.

"Yep," I replied.

When we arrived, I got Grant to take a picture of Steph and I. I needed to show Seth I was okay and living without him happily.

The rest of the night was filled with happy smiles and loud laughs.
