"So you guys are dating?" Grant asked, gesturing at us. When Seth and I looked at each other and nodded, he frowned, but then he quickly covered it with a smile.

"Congratulations," he said, with no emotion. "I'm happy for you."

Back up. Did I make Grant Prady jealous? With those words, he walked away. And, suddenly, Kayla popped up next to us.

"Did you see his face? He totally likes you," she said. Then she gently pushed Seth away from us, saying things about girl talk. He looked back at me and, when I nodded slightly, he left Kayla and me alone.

She matched her stride with mine as she continued the conversation, "So... how was the date?"

I smiled at the memory. "It was the best date I've ever had." I mean I've never been on a date before, but I'm sure if I had, it would have been the best. Oh, and not to mention, the best brownies I've ever had in my life.

We talked about the date until she stopped suddenly. "Isn't this your classroom?" she asked, pointing at Mr. Bodi's classroom.

I groaned. Another day with the pick up line guy. I waved bye to Kayla as I walked into the classroom and looked around. Grant was already in the back of the room. Guess whose partner was already there? Mine. Joy. Nathan wasted no time with the pick up lines.

"Tie your laces. I don't want you to fall for anyone except me," he said, looking up at me from his desk. Okay, I don't even have shoe laces. I wore uggs.

I moved to the desk next to him and ignored him until I realized I knew the one thing that would make him shut up.

"Seth and I are dating," I said, casually. I could see his jaw drop.

Then Seth and Steph walked into the classroom. They were deep in conversation (about the date, I'm sure) until Steph looked up and saw me.

She marched up to me and demanded, "You have some explaining to do, young lady."

"Well, um..."

Just then, Mr. Bodi clapped his hands together and everybody who was standing up found their seats. Steph gave me a look that said, "We are so talking about this later."

"Today is day two of the timeline project. This is due at the end of class tomorrow."

I turned to Nathan, who was still brokenheartedly staring at me. His ego might have actually plummeted. Wow. But the staring was really starting to creep me out.

The rest of class went by, with me explaining everything and him just staring at me. I really wanted to slap him and say snap out of it, but I don't think that would exactly get me in great terms with my teacher.

When the bell finally rang, I almost ran out the door. But no luck. Someone grabbed my arm before I reached the door. I turned around hoping it wasn't Nathan. And, to my relief, it wasn't. It was Steph. And she was glaring at me.

"Well, uhh... you see, um...." I tried to say as she motioned for me to follow her to her locker.

Once we were out of the doorway, she looked at me expectantly. "Explain. Now."

"Okay. Um... so yesterday Seth might have asked me out on a date. And, I might have said yes?" I said.

"And why does your best friend have to find out this information from Instagram?"

"I didn't have any classes with you?"

"So? You have my number in that phone of yours."
