Sleep is essential to soul, a way to escape the world and be completely at peace and harmony, at least that is what Jessie believed in. However to her best friends, sleep was the second essential to the soul. 

"Shout out to my ex, you're really quite the man!" Jessie opened one eye at the screeching singing that echoed through the house. She had a pillow over her head but the singing sounded as if it was right in her bedroom. Her eyes burned from lack of sleep, she had binge watched Riverdale the night before and she was slowly beginning to regret it. 

Jessie threw her pillow off her head and as she was getting out of bed, her door opened and in came her three singing best friends, Charli carrying a plate of strawberry waffles with no syrup, just like Jessie liked.

"Jessie! Jessie wake up! We've got a big day ahead of us!" Leylah said cheering and Jessie laid back down and groaned.

"It's too early for this, why are you guys up so early?" She complained and Charli laughed 

"Dude it's almost eleven in the morning, we let you sleep two extra hours now get up and eat these waffles," Charli said sitting beside Jessie and handing her the plate, Jessie took the plate happily and sat up to take a bite of one of the waffles.

"What's the schedule?" Jessie asked with a full mouth, Emilia sat at the bottom of the bed and frowned a little.

"I think you should come out to the living room first and see before we tell you." Jessie raised her eyebrows but got out of bed to follow the girls out of her bedroom and down the hall and she could see trails of toilet paper at the end of the hall. The hall opened into the living room and kitchen and she gasped at the sight. 

The living room that they had spent hours putting together was covered in toilet paper drowned in ketchup, the smell of ketchup was nauseating and on the wall where the t.v. hung, it said 'We own you' in red spray paint even over the t.v. There was so much toilet paper they couldn't even see the floors and when Jessie stepped into the living room, she felt something squish under her foot. Emilia gagged, Leylah and Charli covering their mouths in disgust as Jessie picked up her foot and dog poop with toilet paper attached to it was stuck to the bottom of her foot.

"They don't even own a dog!" She screamed before hopping on one foot towards the bathroom, her face red with anger and the giggles of her best friends behind her.

Charli parked their rental car down the street from the boys' house and then looked to Leylah who sat beside her in the passenger seat.

They all had war paint on their faces, dressed in camo. They each had water guns but each one had a special gun as well that had a special liquid.

Charli's had cat pee, Leylah's had lemon juice, Emilia's had hot sauce, and Jessie's had pickle juice. Charli got out of the car first and pulled the bandanna around her neck up to cover her mouth, the girls followed her motion and she led the way towards their house. They sneaked around the back and Charli peaked through their patio window to see the boys all sitting in a circle doing warm-ups.

"On the count of three, 1,2,3!" Charli pushed the door opened and aimed at the first one in her sight: Daniel, sadly for him he got the first shots of her ammo.They all started running at the sight of the girls, shooting them with their water guns and their special guns.

"Ew, what is that smell?!" Corbyn screamed as he tried to dodge the aim of Leylah's guns,  it became a game of dodge and run for the boys as they were chased through the house but they didn't outrun the aims of the guns and their house didn't either.

"The war has begun boys, you picked the wrong fight!" Emilia yelled as their ammo had run out, "Oh my gosh it stinks so bad in here." She commented after and Jack frowned at her.

"Please don't tell that's cat pee I'm smelling." Jonah complained sniffing at his wet shirt then he flinched away at the smell groaning " You don't even have a cat!" 

"And you don't have a dog, you guys wanted to play dirty, so it's on," Jessie said crossing her arms, Zach pouted for a moment, looking down at his ruined, smelly black tee before he smiled sweetly.

"Hey, do you want a hug?" Jessie, being the closest, started backing up.

"Zach you better not touch me." She said with a worried look on her face. The rest of the boys caught on and started walking towards them

"Oh come on, hugs are nice right? Everyone likes hugs." Corbyn coaxes at the retreating girls when Daniel lunged forward, the girls took off running towards the front door but only to realize it was locked.

The minor stop caused the boys to catch up with them and they were chased onto the lawn where they were hugged and tackled for the world to see.

"The war is only beginning!"
