"...And that's why Taylor is helping me to pick up."
I finish the story, still staring at his face which contorted into one of confusion and awe by the end of it.
He shifts his weight on his feet, looking like he is processing all off the information until he finally speaks his mind.
"Why go for Phillip when you've got Taylor?" Ha, haven't I heard that before.
I have a feeling Joseph and Lily will get on very well.
"Because Taylor isn't Phillip." I sappily say. Cringing slightly from the clichéness of that sentences. But I mean it's true...He is definitely not.
I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Phil is just so caring and nice, and Taylor is just...well...
Speaking of Taylor I see him heading back with two delicious, creamy, clouds on cones in both hands.
Abruptly, I whip my head to Joseph, offering my hand with my phone placed in the middle. I demand, hopefully not sounding too desperate. "Quick, pretend you just asked me for my number."
So much for not sounding desperate.
Joseph gives of a flirty smirk. Dropping into the part straight away, leaning closer so his shoulders brushing mine. His warmth sweeping off onto me.
He grabs the phone out of my hands, his fingers wrapping around the case and his thumbs dancing like they were in a 'clicky pen' competition. Speaking while he does it.
"Even though this is for show, you should call me up some time... and tell me how this little 'experiment ends.'" His voice finding humour in the word 'experiment.'
Oh that's nice of him. He wants to hang out...with me. Can it be true? I'm sure he thinks I'm crazy and will be his entertainment for the next couple of weeks.
Finally, I can add another name to my 'long' list of friends. Long list meaning only Lily and the Smoothie cashier guy for when I'm feeling some Boost Juice.
Still typing away on my phone Joseph brings up a question that I had yet to think of.
"So what happens after you cast out the line and pull in the catch?" He enquires.
Now that Joseph, is a very, very good question. From never begin in a relationship before I have no idea how to interact with Phillip once I 'catch' him.
Oh god... I'm sure there will be dates, and kissing, and sexy time and the awkward morning after and talking about serious things...well talking in general.
Looking dumbstruck I voice my thoughts. "I do not know." I begin to slightly panic. What would I do? I never had plans for after the success of my 'frisky few' pick-up lines.
I'm panicking in my mind, and I think on the outside my face just looks dumbfounded as Joseph laughs at my expression.
Beach boy hands my phone back to me, only when our palms collide in mid 'hand over' he interlocks our fingers in a hand hold type of gesture.
Continuing the show for Taylor who is only about 50 metres from us. That's about 50 steps. And that's about 50 seconds, so we have 50 seconds to devise a plan before Taylor reaches us. #Logic.
"So what does happen?" My voice is rushed as I ask this. But Joseph coolly leans back, amusingly responding with. "Just the normal stuff... dates, kissing, talking." Ah, everything in my worst nightmares.
