After taking a self-tour of the room and (surprisingly) mingling with others I make my way to Lily and Joseph, who are sat out our assigned seating for the night. Settling down I take a second to soak up the extragantness of this place. They really have gone all out. Chandeliers hung from the high ceiling, every man and women was dressed in their best clothes.
Looking around I admire what everybody is wearing and how crisp their appearance are, and when my eyes focus on one form imparticular I almost fall out of my seat. I would know that perfectly sculptured body and face from anywhere. Taylor? My palms start to sweat out how good he looks in a suit, and the fact that he is the only guy who has ever seen me naked and he is here and I'm not mentally prepared to see him so soon. But in my panic and checking out I notice his arm is attached to something. Attached to a girl. The drop dead gorgeous girl is leaning into his touch, her skinny and tones body causing something to arise in me, something I have rarely felt and shouldn't be feeling for Taylor...Jealously.
This was probably Lily's idea, bringing me to an event that she would know Taylor was at. I turn to her with a hiss. "What's he doing here?" I try to be as quite as possible. Even though he is far away I'm still afraid he will somehow here me and then try and talk to me like he has though texts.
Lily looks confused before following the direction my finger was pointing, her eyes going wide in genuine surprise but enjoyment fills her eyes. She is going to relish in this. "I don't know." A cheeky smirk finding its way on both Lily and Josephs face once he pays attention at our conversation. They're planning something, I'm sure of it.
Turning my back towards Taylor and ducking my head in an attempt to escape his gaze if it happens to fall on our table. Which is highly likely now Lily and joseph have decided to eat and poor drinks extra louder, making really embarrassing moaning noises and laughing like hieners.
Tensing, I reach out and gather what I might need to make a run for it; my phone? Check. My bag? Check. My stress? Check.
"Quick! Let's leave before he sees us." I beg with wide eyes. But none of them seem to be taking me seriously as they laugh extra louder. I scrunch my face at their unfaithfulness and once they quite down I thought they might actually be helping me to escape. But Lily's stares behind me for a long time. Too long.
"I think that's a little too late." Joseph's smug voice snickers. Him and Lily giving each congratulating looks.
Oh no. He couldn't be? Slapping my hands on my temples I rub them, trying to get rid of the headache that had suddenly come on. Letting out a beaten sigh. "Don't tell me he is walking this way."
By their silence and victorious faces I already knew the answer. Putting the most forced smile on my face I turn in my chair. Acting surprised at seeing him and trying to keep my cool at how better he looks close up.
"Taylor." I greet confidently. But it wasn't confident at all, it was tense and awkward and I can tell - that he can tell- that I really didn't want him approaching me.
He smirks at my obvious distress. "Deanna." My name drips off like honey on his lips. And just like that he has my full attention.
Looking over my shoulder at the rest of my posse he does a small head nod, akcnologing them, but then goes right back to me. The polite smile he showed Lily and Phillip disappears once he looks at me, the same cocky smirk replacing it. I twiddle my thumbs around and around as if they were chasing each other, just thinking about getting out of here and trying not to stare at his hands. The ones that have literally touched eighty percent of my body.
