Livy's POV:
I was the first to wake up. I turned to where Leo should have slept to see an empty sleeping bag. That made me worry. I got out of my sleeping bag and was quickly greeted by cool air. I shivered and held my arms as I walked to where Jess was sleeping.

"Jess?" I whispered, gently shaking him awake.

"What?" He asked groggily.

"Leo still isn't back." He opened his eyes and looked into mine. When he saw the worry in them, he sighed.

"Okay." He sighed again and got up. We grabbed our flashlights and walks around the Asylum trying to find Leo.

"He said he was going to leave, so maybe he is by the entrance," Jess offered. I nodded.

As we neared the entrance there was an awful smell that made me gag. We walked through the door that led to the entrance.

"What is that?" I asked. Then my face paled. We found Leo.

He was lying on his back and his green, unseeing eyes looked at the door we came out of with horror. The pool of blood that surrounded him was partly dried. When I looked closer, I realized that he had been stabbed multiple times. Tears started to burn in the back of my eyes.

"How could we let this happen?" I almost screamed it. Jess seemed a little worried about other things.

"Livy, this wasn't a suicide." His face paled. "This was a murder. We need to get out of here." We ran back to the others.

"Wake up!" Jess yelled. I have never heard him yell like that before. Everyone grumbled and opened their eyes. They immediately stood up when they saw our expressions. Layla walked up to me.

"What happened?" She looked around the room. "Where is also?" I shook my head, I couldn't answer this question. Everyone turned to Jess.

"Leo was murdered when he was trying to escape," Jess said gravely.

"Is this some type of sick joke?" Asked Matt. He crossed his arms.

"No. We would never joke about this," said Jess. "We need to leave this place as soon as possible."

"I want to see for myself," said Matt.

"I kinda do too," said Mike.

"You don't believe me?" Jess said incredulously. They just stared at him. "Fine, but we all stay together."

Everyone seemed to think this was a joke except for Jess and I. Layla pushed open the door and screamed. Jess and I flinched and ran forward. Leo's body was gone except for a trail of blood. He was dragged away. Layla raised a shaky finger and pointed to the wall. In the wall there were words handwritten in blood: Five To Go...

"We need to get out of here," said Matt.

"That's what I was trying to tell you! Help me get this door open." Jess walked up to the thick door and gave his hardest push.

"Jess, it won't work. Case barred the door after he closed it," I said. He slammed his hand into the door.

"Leo was right, we should have never came here," said Jess.

"We could try the windows," offered Layla. I could tell she was holding in a sob.

"Good idea," said Matt. "I'm not sure it will work, but I want to get out of here."

* * *

We tried every window, but none opened. All of them were too high. We could reach some by standing on a table, but they wouldn't budge.

"I'm going back," said Layla.

"I will go with you," I said.

"We should stay together," Mike called as we left the room.

"Then come with us," Layla called back. She narrowed her eyes. "I wish I was never talked into this," Layla muttered. I didn't say anything. We passed by some rooms that used to hold the mental patients. We froze in our tracks. There was a dark figure in our room, rummaging through our stuff.

"Mike!" Layla screeched. The figure dropped a bag and drew out something silver. I heard footsteps behind me, so I turned around. It was the boys, running towards us. When I turned back, the figure was gone. So was Layla.
