Livy's POV:
Matt and Layla were murmuring to each other in the corner of the office. His changed, physically and mentally after her little speech. Mourning turned into rage. Matt smiled at the idea of torturing the figure, nice and slow, which scared us.Jess and I sat down in our sleeping areas next to each other. We had to carry Mike's body out of the room while Matt wasn't looking. It depressed all of us to have it in the room, especially Matt.
"Do you think we will make it?" I whispered to Jess. He hesitated before answering.
"I don't know." His voice cracked. "The door can only be opened from the outside, so we have to wait until Case comes back."
"That's three more days." I looked at him, silently hoping he would prove me wrong, that we have less days. Instead, he nodded gravely.

I rolled over and looked at Jess. He was still on his watch, staring at the door blankly. He moved his eyes to me slowly and put a finger to his lips. It was the middle of the night, so Layla and Matt were still sleeping.
I turned over slowly and acted like I was sleeping. I opened my eyes and looked at the door. At first, I couldn't see anything, but then I started to make out a dark shape in the doorway.
"It's here," Jess said under his breath. I could barely hear him. My hand wrapped around the scissors I got from the First Aid Kit. Each of us got anything that could be used as a weapon before we went to bed. We watched as the dark figure became more visible and headed to where Layla was sleeping.
I pulled of the blanket and stood up slowly. A moment ago I was tired, but now adrenaline was coursing through my veins. The figure was crouching right next to Layla. It held something above its head, a knife. I lunged at the figure with the scissors in my hand and plunged it into where the shoulder should be.
The figure let out a surprised yelp, unmistakably a girl, and whirled to face me. Jess turned on a flashlight, revealing icy blue eyes that were filled with hatred. She pulled the scissors out of her shoulder and threw it on the ground. Before I could do anything, she kicked me into Jess and plunged the knife into Matt.
All I saw was a flash of teeth, a smile, before she was gone. I looked at Matt and saw that Jess was already kneeling over him. He met my eyes but quickly looked away. He's dead.
