"You seem like you're distracted," Mingyu asked Seungkwan after school, "are you alright?"
He and Seungkwan were in the library, working on a project. Seungkwan was distracted the whole time they were there, and Mingyu was getting tired of having to pull Seungkwan out of his trance multiple times.
"It's nothing, really," Seungkwan shrugged, "I'm sorry, I'll focus on this."
"No, tell me," Mingyu asked, his hand on top of Seungkwan's to capture his attention. "What's going on?"
Seungkwan's heart began to race, but he simply cleared his throat so he could answer Mingyu's question.
"You know Vernon Chwe?" Seungkwan asked.
"Yes, I do," Mingyu answered.
"Well, he and I dated before I got into this accident, and I lost all memory of our entire year together," Seungkwan sighed. "Ever since the accident, he's been accepting of me moving on, but at the same time, he hasn't been. He continues to send me letters of some memories we shared like our first date and when we met. Seeing today's letter made me realize that there's a lot I'm forgetting."
Mingyu exhaled through his nose. "So, what did the letter say?"
Seungkwan opened his binder and gave Mingyu the already opened envelope, and Mingyu pulled out the note inside.
Do you remember our first kiss?
You were so shy, and I was so nervous. You had admitted that you never had your first kiss, thinking I was the experienced one between the two of us. However, you weren't the only one who's never been in a relationship.
We had just finished eating dinner at this Korean restaurant, and I had driven you back to your house. It was that cliche scene from the movies, where we were standing on your porch in silence, just staring into each other's eyes, my hand in yours.
I suddenly leaned forward and pressed my lips to yours, and for a second, I thought I was too aggressive. However, when you rested your hand on my cheek, I knew that you liked me as much as I liked you.
- vernon.
"It's actually well-written," Mingyu complimented, a cheeky smile on his face. "But I can see why you'd be a little upset."
"What do I do?" Seungkwan whined.
"Accept them," Mingyu answered, "he will get over you on his own time, Seungkwan. The boy is heartbroken."
"Oh my goodness, you sound like my mother," Seungkwan rolled his eyes.
"Well, what did you expect me to say? You know that both your mom and I are right," Mingyu mentioned. "Don't stress about it. I've seen him around you, and he's not trying to push himself onto you or anything. He respects you, Seungkwan, so unless he's being physical, don't worry too much."
Seungkwan sighed and nodded his head.
"After this project"--Mingyu cleared his throat and put his pencil down-- "do you want to go and get something to eat? I'm starving. I'll drop you off right after."
"Eat where?" Seungkwan asked. "My wallet can only handle so much."
"Don't worry, it's on me," Mingyu assured him, "and I've been meaning to try this new seafood spot downtown. Do you like seafood?"
"Yeah, I'd love to eat seafood," Seungkwan prayed that his face's temperature would decrease before he blushed in front of Mingyu.
"Alright, let's go then," Mingyu stood, putting his books in his backpack.
