The last time Seungkwan felt his heart race as fast as this, he had woken up in the hospital after the accident.
At the time, all Seungkwan could remember is how badly he wanted to wake up from this dream and find his mother, so she could tell him everything was alright. However, he was hugged by Vernon, who at the time, he had absolutely no idea who he was.
Now. the thought of seeing his beloved boyfriend fueled Seungkwan as Mingyu finally parked in front of Vernon's home. Seungkwan wanted to scream as he fought off the seatbelt across his chest before throwing open Mingyu's passenger door.
"Don't I at least get a 'thank you?'" Mingyu dared to say to Seungkwan, "I did drive you here safely to your boyfriend."
Seungkwan sighed, sitting back in the passenger seat of the car, the door opened wide.
"Listen to me, very carefully," Seungkwan muttered. His voice was coated with venom and hatred. Mingyu found it hard to look him in the eye. "You have done everything to break up Vernon and I, from sending him death threats to even assaulting him in the school bathrooms. I know everything, even though Vernon tried so hard to keep it all a secret from me. I saw his bruised lips and the blood that would rush from his nose at least every week after lunch. I saw the texts you sent him and how you treated him in the gym and how you mocked him online. You made his life a living hell. When I was the only thing keeping him together, you used my memory loss to give the final blow."
Seungkwan leaned closer, gripping onto the collar of Mingyu's shirt. Mingyu winced.
"I'm going to go in there, and I better find my boyfriend in one piece," Seungkwan growled, "I better find him watching television or eating spicy beef ramen or something that I know he does on the regular. If I find him in a condition any less than happy, I will find you, Kim Mingyu, and I promise I will bring nothing but living hell to you for the rest of your life."
Seungkwan shoved Mingyu's chest again, more roughly than he did when he fought Mingyu in his bedroom, before stepping out of the car again, breathing harshly. Seungkwan didn't even turn to look when he heard Mingyu speed away from the house.
Seungkwan walked to the porch of the house, his mind wandering to happy thoughts he had shared with Vernon up until the accident. He couldn't help but giggle as he thought about Vernon's clumsiness and his cute smile whenever Seungkwan caught him trying to steal some of his popcorn during their movie nights.
He missed Vernon so much.
Seungkwan knocked on the door, the door moving backwards on its own. Vernon always locked the door, meaning something was not right. Seungkwan's heart began to pound.
"Vernon?" Seungkwan called, as he stepped into the home, his fingers trembling as he held the doorknob. The idea of finding his man on the floor lifeless would probably bring death to him as well.
The house was visibly empty - the couch did not have a print showing someone had sat there recently, the remotes were aligned next to each other on the table, and the house was silent. Too silent.
"Vernon? It's Seungkwan," Seungkwan spoke again, "Are you here? Baby?"
Seungkwan closed the door gently behind him, removing his shoes before he walked past the living room. Seungkwan clenched his fingers into fists as he glanced into the kitchen, scanning to see if Vernon was simply standing and making something to eat.
Nothing.
"Vernon?" Seungkwan called, standing by the bottom of the stairs. "Vernon, it's Seungkwan. Where are y-"
CRASH!
"Vernon!" Seungkwan yelled, running up the stairs as fast he could. "Please be okay! Please be okay!"
