Link the Deku Scrub

"Ungh... what is this?! Something's covering my face!"

"Hee hee hee! You got that right, fool! There's nothing I can't do! Stay like that forever! Heh heh heh!" Skull Kid started leaving. Link ran after him.

"W-Wait! Take this off me!" The yellow fairy from before ran in front of Link's foot, making him trip and fall. "BLEAH!"

"Tatl, hurry!" The dark purple fairy turned around and looked at the yellow fairy.

"Tael! Skull Kid! Wait! I'm still here! Don't go, Tael!!" Skull Kid and the dark purple fairy had disappeared. "Tael!"

Link sat on the ground, looking up at the hopeless fairy. He looked at his hands and the rest of his body. 'What am I going to do about this? My sword and shield are gone. How am I supposed to eat?' Link blew a bubble from his new mouth.

"Hey!"

The yellow fairy started beating Link on the head. "You split up my brother and me! How're you going to fix that? Waaah! Tael! What will you do without me?"

"Ow! Quit it! Hard to believe you and Navi are both fairies!"
"Who's Navi?"
"My best friend! She's cute and kind! Your exact opposite!"

Once again, she beat Link on the head. "Whaddya think, all fairies are the same? I'm Tatl! You remember that!"

BLOOMP

"Gotcha!" Link had trapped Tatl in a bubble he blew from his mouth, and held her out in front of him. "Now tell me, Tatl! Where's Skull Kid? Where'd he take Epona?"
"Epona?"
"The horse you guys just stole!"

"I don't know."

Link angrily looked at Tatl. "Ohhh, I just remembered! He probably went to Clock Town. This way!" Tatl freed herself and led Link somewhere.

"Hm? What's going on? The ground's soft. What's... that sound? Is it... a clock... ...?"

"Whoa... where am I?"

CHUNK CHUNK CHUNK, KREEK

Link slowly creaked open the door. A town!

"Hurry!! Three days till the carnival. We need this tower built by then."

"Boss, we should flee."

"IDIOT!! Don't believe those rumors! The carnival's gonna go on just like always!"

A Deku Scrub walked around, looking pretty impressed. 'I never knew there was a town this big so deep in the forest. But something weird is going on. I can't put my finger on it, but...'

BUMP
Link bumped into a man. He looked strangely familiar...

"Hey! Watch where you're going!"
"Oh... sorry."
"Now where was I? Grumble, grumble."

Link stopped, and looked at the man again. "Ingo? What's he doing here?! The Lon Lon Ranch is a LONG way away!"

BUMP

Someone bumped into Link from behind, and made him faceplant.

"Oh, sorry. I can't see very well. Are you all right?" He, too, also looked strangely familiar... he looked like...

'That can't be King Zora. He was much bigger.'

Tatl showed Link an exit guarded by a guard. "That's where he usually hangs out, outside town. Let's go!"
