Kafei held out a mask to Link. "Look at this. It's a sun mask that I made. I was going to use it as my wedding mask. Anju has a moon mask. Every year during the Carnival of Time, the sun and moon are in the same house. It's a season of harmony."
"At the festival we pray to the gods of the Four Worlds for a year of prosperity. Many couples get married and wear such masks as symbols of their union. It's supposed to be good luck. I made a promise to Anju. I said I would come to her in my wedding mask."
"I can't let her see me like this! If the Skull Kid doesn't return me to normal... I'll never see her again!!"
GWROOOM
Link ran outside, along with Kafei and Tatl. "The moon is falling! No time to argue! Come on!!"
Tatl turned around. "Tatl?!" "I need to make a side trip! I'll be back soon."
Inside the room, the Mask Salesman watched the two run off. "They're off to confront that little demon. Now for the real show. If I can only get that mask back, I'll no logger have a need for this world. I just move on. Ho... ho ho ho..."
"If you're gonna fall, then fall, dash it all!! But I won't leave this tower! Bah! The others are all cowards!" A man started to yell at the moon.
Two kids looked up at the moon. "Hey, what's with the moon?" "Mom said it won't fall." "Oh well. It's no good running now!" "I guess you're right."
A guard watched the kids wander off. "Someone save those children..."
"Mayor! What should we do? We must advise all residents to evacuate! Mayor Dotour!!" "And we can have a fireworks display and..."
Link and Kafei quickly ran up the stairs to the Clock Tower roof, tripping a few times. The bell rang. Midnight. Fireworks went off. "It's midnight! The carnival has started!" Tatl came back.
"Tatl, where'd you go?" "What? I didn't miss anything!"
