What makes us human? People ask.
But I've known that for years.
I'll tell you the answer,
If you'll lend me an ear.
Some people say it's empathy.
Well no, that's not right.
Rats can show empathy.
For those others in a plight.
Where is our empathy?
For those that have nothing,
While we sit here and read
On tablets and phone screens.
Some people say it's intelligence.
Well, dolphins are smarter than us.
They talk before they take action
Every dolphin gets a chance to discuss.
Where is our intelligence?
Some people have way too much,
Whilst others suffer from poverty,
And barely get by as such.
No, it is our cruelty.
That's what sets us apart.
Which makes me wonder sometimes
Do humans even have hearts?
