She sits opposite me
silent tears run down her cheeks
and i want to help her
i want to comfort her
(comfort)i put my hand out
to reach her touch her
let her know shes not alone
and her hand stops me
(stop)i ask her what is wrong
and she starts to talk
about her problems
and i listen
(listen)she has a girlfriend that
makes her so happy
but she cant tell anyone
because they wouldnt understand
(understand)and she is bullied by her siblings
lives in fear of her mother
and only really feels safe at school
where she has friends
(give)she rarely hands
homework in on time
never gets enough sleep
as she is scared of the nightmare
(scare)and every day she fights
fights to stay alive in a
harsh hostile world that seems
to only want to make her sad
(want)and once more she falls silent
tears still pouring down her face
and i can see the sadness and
age beyond her years
(see)and i want to comfort her
but theres nothing i can do
nothing i can say and
we both know it
(know)and all i can do is sit
and watch as she falls apart
before my eyes
and she is dying
(dying)and i look around for help
and nobody comes
nobody comes until its too late
and i have to watch her
and i cant help her
and i cant help myself
and she is me.It was a mirror the entire time.
(help me)
