I try to overcome
These things that people say.
I try to not let them affect me
In any way.
I try to comprehend
What, and who I am.
I try not to let it flood me
As I struggle to build a dam.
I try to figure out
Why I was sent to you.
I try to climb these branches
As they always block my view.
I try to understand
What my talents are.
And just what makes me different
From any other human with a heart.
I try to blend in
I try, I really do.
So listen to the advice
That I give to you.
Don't blend in.
Always stand out.
Don't be small and ashamed.
Be you, and be proud.
