Before I write the poem, I just want to say I won a poetry award and I'm really proud😊. The theme was optimism. Comment if you want me to post it.

                              I stand, on the edge.
I look down, and see black.
Swirling, seething, creeping.
If I go, I'm not coming back.
                              I stand, on the edge.
I look up and see stars.
Shining, shimmering, glowing.
And I know I need to get going.
                              I jump, spread my wings.
Fly, for a moment.
Then my wings turn black.
They crumble away as a warning, an omen.
                              And down I fall,
The black covers my head.
Shutting out the stars,
Making me wish I was dead.
