The next day they went back to the hospital. When Molly asked to go back and see Carly's parents, the lady at the desk started to frown. "Okay, they're uh, not doing so great.." Carly started to tear up, but realized there were other people in the room. She tried her best not to start crying, everyone would stare at her. "Oh, um okay. Can we go see them?" "Yes of course." Then they walked off to the room.
It was a little while after they got there, the heart monitor on Carly's Dad went a little weird. That's when it happened. The line went flat. Molly ran to get a nurse while Carly was on the floor crying. When the nurse got there, it was already too late.
Carly was a mess already, but lost it when the same thing happened to her mom a while later. She couldn't believe it. She lost both of her parents in one day. At this point she didn't know what was going to happen.
Carly didn't have any other family to take care of her, so she would have to go to an adoption center. For now, Molly took Carly home and stayed the night.
"You'll have to go to an adoption center."
"Why? Can't you take care of me?"
"I can't."
"Why?"
"I'm only 17 and I have to move away. This was going to be my last time babysitting."
Carly just stands there. Her world is falling apart. And there is nothing she can do to stop it.
