The challenge (Natsu x Lucy) [COMPLETED]

3rd person P.O.V

    The two stared at each other silently from opposite sides of the room. Lucy finally sighed and sat down beside Levy. She then grabbed a book and hid her face with it.

"It's Natsu Dragneel! He's in our class!" Some random girls in front of the trio swooned.

"So cool!!" A blonde guy up front squealed and snapped a picture of the two up front.

    Natsu just looked at the class and winked. Most girls squealed while Juvia, Levy and Lucy just rolled their eyes. Gray whispered something to Natsu and they smirked at each other. They then walked through the isles and sat beside the three girls. Juvia blushed, Gray was sitting right next to her. Lucy was about to say something but then the teacher walked in and started the class.

"Hey, Luigi, you any good at this?" Natsu whispered over to the blonde.

"It's Lucy and yes, I happen to be very good at this, in fact, I'm already done." Lucy smirked, holding up her filled in sheet.

"What?!" Natsu gaped and then turned back to his paper.

    Levy giggled beside her, the bluenette had already finished herself as well. They were now discussing the zodiac series and other series they had both read.

"Nerds." Natsu muttered under his breath, casting Lucy a sideways glance.

    She was smiling at Levy a slight, casual blush on her cheeks. She seemed to sparkle for a second there. Natsu frowned, shaking it out of his head and turning back to his paper.

"Alright! 10 questions to go..." He said quietly to himself.

"She gave us 10 questions to do, baka." Gray rolled his eyes.

"D-did you just say...?" Lucy gasped, turning to Gray.

"Huh? What?" Gray arched an eyebrow.

"Did you just say baka? Are you a male otaku?" Lucy demanded.

"No, my friend was into anime and he made me watch a whole series." Gray sighed.

"Ohhhh...him?" Lucy pointed to a concentrating Natsu.

"No, he wouldn't be caught dead watching anime." Gray chuckled.

"Lucy-chan...is Juvia's rival?" Juvia growled demonically.

"No, I don't like him in that way Juves!" Lucy laughed nervously.  

"Good." Juvia leaned into Lucy, her face right in Lucy's.

"Rival?" Gray questioned.

"Oh, don't mind her Gray-sama, Lucy-chan isn't rival." Juvia giggled.

"Bipolar much?" Natsu mumbled, giving up and lying his head on the table.

"Finished Mr. Dragneel?" The teacher asked.

"Erm...uh...yeah." Natsu lied.

"Let me see it." The teacher ordered, holding out her hand.

    Natsu panicked and quickly scribbled down a bunch of numbers, then he stood up nicely and handed his paper to the teacher. He knew it wouldn't be right but at least it wasn't blank.

"These are all wrong. Do you need a tutor?" The teacher demanded.

"Maybe, it might be helpful." Natsu chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Alright, students, hand in your papers, whoever has the highest score will be Natsu's tutor." The teacher ordered.

    Majority of the girls in the class started squealing like crazy and they rushed to hand in their papers.

"I'm starting to regret being smart...but I'm pretty sure Levy will get them all right, she seems pretty intelligent..." Lucy muttered to herself as she walked up to hand the teacher her paper.

"I hope it's you, Luigi." Natsu winked.

"I don't, and it's Lucy." 

    A few minutes later, everyone had handed in their papers and the teacher was about to announce the tutor.

"Now I know, tutoring isn't exactly the most exciting privilege especially with this one's mind, but if you do a good job, you'll get a bonus 30% on your finals." The teacher announced.

"That actually sounds pretty sweet..." Lucy muttered and she raised her hand.

"Yes, you, blondie?" The teacher asked.

"How long would he have to be tutored for?" Lucy asked.

"Until the end of the first semester or at least until his grades improve." The teacher answered.

    Levy looked to Lucy and they smiled at each other, both hoping to get the opportunity for 30%. Though both barely needed it.

"As for his tutor, it will be...Lucy Heartfilia." The teacher announced.

"I beat you?" Lucy gaped at Levy.

"I must have slipped up on one of the questions, I thought we would have at least tied." Levy shrugged.

"Nice! I got Luigi!" Natsu grinned.

"It's Lucy!"

Sorry for the late update, I was busy watching anime. Gotta have time for those ships! (Even though I've watched the season countless times)
