Another day had passed and we were ready to go home.
Jamie had been quiet the whole 9 minute ride home, and Anna has been too.
I'd learned she was a quiet baby, thankfully for her sake, and my sake.

We'd arrived home and stepped inside, Jamie still had not said anything. At this point I was fucking terrified.
I quickly left and put Anna down for a nap in her room.
"Jamie. Are you alright?" I wrung my hands together as I closed Anna's door behind me.
"No I'm not Sean!" He shouted from the kitchen. I flinched at the sudden noise.
"W-whats wrong?" I stuttered as I entered the kitchen too.
"You! Your costing me money I don't fucking have!" He slammed the fridge door.
"But you got me pregnant." I said quietly under my breath.
"Say it! Spit it out!" He stomped over in front of me.
"I-I didn't say anything." I sniffled as tears began to fall.
"Really?!" Jamie lunged his hand at me, making me flinch. He yanked my hair.
"Again, what did you say?" His eyes reflected absolute hatred as he stared me down.
"Y-you got m-me p-preg-gnant-t." I managed to get out through wimpers. I'd realized then I was having a panic attack as my body convulsed in his grip on my hair.
"Maybe if you hadn't been such a little bitch I woulda gone easy on ya." Jamie said deeply in his Irish accent.
He threw me down on the ground, kicked my rib cage, and left me with a fucking panic attack on the kitchen floor.

I stayed there for a long time, wishing the pain away. Until Anna's cries forced me up.
I limped into her room and picked her up from the crib, her wails dulling when she saw me.
"Hey baby girl. What's wrong, huh?" I asked her. I mean she obviously couldn't answer, but it made me feel better.
I checked her diaper and sure enough she needed a change.
I changed her carefully, making sure I did everything right, just like Jane taught me.
Afterwards, she was still crying, her screams increasing. Yep, definitely my lungs.
"I suppose your hungry now." I spoke to myself.
I walked to the kitchen and found Jamie fixing a meal. It looked like a big meal. For us? No... Maybe.
I yanked open the fridge and pulled out a bottle. Heading back to Anna's room, I sat in the chair we had in the room and fed her.

A good while later, I lifted her up towards my shoulder and patted her back. Not roughly, but enough to help her get all the air bubbles out.
Almost immediately I heard a belch a grown man could produce and praised her. But Anna was tired and her icy blue eyes begged for her pacifier.
I popped it in her mouth and put her back in the crib. Then I laid back in the chair in her room and was lulled to sleep by the soft sounds of the city...

Not long later, I was woken up by a soft shake.
"Come on babe, foods ready." Jamie whispered. I suppose he didn't want to wake our daughter up.
"Ok." I nodded my head and stood, following him into the the living room where I saw an extravagant meal laid out on the table. The TV showed a romantic comedy on pause.
"Y-you did all this? For me?" I was in awe at his gesture.
"Ya. I just wanted to apologize for hurting you. And getting you pregnant." Jamie sighed and rubbed his neck.
"Aw baby, you don't have e to apologize for getting me pregnant. Anna's the best thing that ever happened to me. And you too." I smiled and hugged him. He pulled me into a kiss rather quickly. But I pulled away and sat on the couch, chowing down on a sandwich while Jamie started the movie.
It was a pretty peaceful evening after that. For the first time in a while, we had loving sex. Maybe I won't leave...
