Mark took Anna from me and set her into the carrier he'd brought that sat in the middle of us on the floor.
Lexa took the 5 minutes we had and began reviewing the case. I dazed in and out as I saw all the people flooding into the court room.
"Jack, are you ok?" Mark shook my shoulder since he was sitting next to me.
"Um, I-I... There's so many people..." I murmured.
Without saying anything, Mark pulled me into a hug.
"You have nothing to worry about baby boy." He spoke soothingly in my ear.
Lexa continued speaking while I held Mark's hand to calm me. It worked.
The judge banged his gavel on the wooden box that rose above everyone.
Anna jumped and looked around in the new place that scared her so that she cried.
Before I could lean down and console her, Mark picked her up and walked out with the crying baby.
"Mrs.Pure, will you please stand up and present your case." The judge's powerful voice ordered.
She stood, leaving her files and turned to the jury while keeping the judge in sight.
"2 months ago, Sean McLoughlin, or Jack, celebrated an abusive relationship that lasted 2 years." The jury frowned. "One month ago, he came to the states to stay with Mark Fischbach, whom he had hidden a relationship with. Not long after, the man who abused him, Jamie Lewis," She pointed to the table next to her where Jamie sat in an orange outfit. "Had come back and kidnapped him, leaving him with scars beyond imagination." The jury of 10 people gasped.
The door behind me opened with a creak and Mark walked in with Anna who stopped crying.
"And that little girl, is his." She planted her hands on the table next to me across from Jamie. I could see him sneer at her.
I looked back at Mark who walked slowly now because the entire crowd behind us, was staring at them.
He saw me and quickly walked to me. He had to go around the table to sit next to me. Mark handed Anna to me gently, as not wake her up.
"I don't think she's feeling well." He whispered.
All this while the judge had thanked Lexa and she sat down next to us as Mark whispered to me.
"Mr. Yaano," The other lawyer stood up. You could tell he was obviously a gang member at one point. "Will you please state your case."
"Although it may seem like he abused Jack, he has an excuse. Through countless geneology reports, mental illness runs in the family." The jury looked at each other oddly. "Being where he's from, Ireland, the small country could offer little help. Thank you." The man finished his plea and sat next to Jamie, whom he conferred with.
"Jamie, will you please come to the witness stand." His powerful voice ordered again. A cop next to him held his arm and lead him next to the judge where he sat down.
Lexa stood and went over Jamie.
"Mr.Lewis, as per your lawyers statement of mental illness, how did it come up that you hurt Jack?"
"I never knew I did."
"And what do you mean by that?" She walked away from the stand and over to the our table while he answered.
"I guess if maybe he like, dropped a plate or something, I'd hurt him. But I would never mean to." Going back to the jury, she set a few papers on the side of the box.
"Well according to these papers from one of Ireland's best hospitals out of 200, it states here that you have mild anger illness that has been treated." One of the older men in the jury looked over the paper.
"That's not true." Jamie spoke. "I went there and they did a brain scan. Then they sent me home." Lexa left the papers and walked the few feet to Jamie.
"Then why are they the best in Ireland?"
Jamie tried to speak but was cut off by Lexa speaking loudly.
"That is all your honor." She nodded her head curtly and sat next to Mark again.
"Mr.Yaano, do you have anything to say?" The judge spoke.
Mr. Yaano stood before speaking. "No sir your honor.
I looked down and found Anna was deeply asleep enough so that I set her in her carrier that was still in between me and Mark.
The cop that took Jamie to the witnesses stand brought him back to his spot at the table.
"Jack." The judge simply called and I stood up, walking to witnesses stand and sitting down.
Mr.Yaano stood again and walked in front of me, stopping.
"Jacksepticeye. Yes I found your YouTube channel with 16 million subscribers. What do you do with all your income?"
"I-I put it in a savings account for my daughter." I answered timidly.
"Yes, but I never saw a video on there where you talked about your relationship with my client."
"I didn't want to bother the fans with stuff like that."
"Oh but you told them about your daughter?"
"Well yeah because I knew they would notice a change after 9 months."
"Mm." He hummed. Pacing to the jury members and back while speaking, he asked another question.
"If Mr.Lewis apparently abused you for so long, how come you didn't leave?"
"I couldn't."
"Why not?"
I sighed. "Because he would find a at to get me back. Kidnap or bribe. And then I didn't have anywhere to go."
"So why did you come to the states?"
"To be with Mark." I fiddled with my shirt sleeves that were out of sight.
"According to the your story that brought to us by the police, it says here you were kidnapped from Mr.Fischbachs residence. Why were you there?"
"Because I moved in with him."
"So when did you start dating?" He smirked at me slyly from his spot in front of me.
"W-when I was 5 months pregnant. I couldn't just leave and come here that fast."
"No more questions your honor." He smiled at the judge and sat down again.
"Mrs.Pure, do you have any questions for you client?"
"Yes sir." She stood and walked in front of us, keeping the jury, me , and the judge in her sight.
"Mr.McLoughlin, how long have you been in America?"
"About a month." My legs shook to keep my anxiety curbed.
"And how old is your daughter?"
"6 weeks and 3 days old." I replied, proud of my statistics.
"So you left your homeland when she was 2 weeks old. That's not a safe age for her to be flying." She tsked.
"I needed to leave." I answered.
"Why?" She looked at me directly now, still in the same spot.
"Because... When he, Jamie, f-found out I was dating Mark. I had to leave to protect her." I looked down.
"Jack." Lexa spoke softly. I looked up and saw her standing in front of me with a kind look on her face. "Why did you have to leave?"
"I had to protect Anna."
"No. That's now what I meant. Why did you leave so suddenly?" She emphasized.
"When he found out, I was in Anna's small room. He pushed me against the wall and read messages from my phone Mark had sent me." I wiped my nose with my sleeve.
"Then he punched me, giving me a black eye and choked me. I couldn't breathe... So I kicked him in the nuts and he dropped me. I was still recovering air when he got up and... Kicked my rib cage then stomped on my arm, almost breaking it. One of the medical personal had to come with me on the plane that was set to leave 30 minutes after that because he was worried my arm was broken."
"Your doing a good job Jack. Just a few more questions." Lexa smiled and rubbed my shoulder, then wiped a tear away.
"I will read the report the Mr.Fischbach and Mr.McLoughlin gave to the officer that came to their house 2 days after the kidnapping after he arrived in America one week prior." She walked over the table and picked up a file. Clearing her throat, she read it as I set my head down.
"Mark Fischbach:
I had gone to the store and took my dog, Chica, to the groomers. I came back home and saw the house was a wreck. I heard Anna upstairs crying so I tended to her and cleaned the house. Looking at the bathroom... There was so much blood... I cleaned the rest of the house and ended in the kitchen. Then I had a chance to break down. 30 minutes later the doorbell rang and I answered. I saw Jack laying on the porch with his clothes all cut up an soaked in blood. He begged me not to take him to the hospital... So I had to clean him up myself and I stitched up his leg that had been cut deeply. I couldn't do anything for his back though...
Sean McLoughlin:
Ok... I remember me and Anna were playing in our room and I left to go to the bathroom. Then Jamie was behind me and he slashed across my back with a knife. Twice. I fell and he cut my leg. I think I blacked out after that. I woke up with my arms tied to a bed. I really don't know how I was alive by then. But I managed to stay awake while... He uh, he raped me. And then I blacked out because I'd lost too much blood. And woke up here yesterday." Lexa stopped.
"It never says how you ended up back at Mr.Fischbachs residence."
I lifted my head up and spoke again. "I don't know how I got back home." I spoke a lot more calmer now.
"Lastly, I have some pictures show of the wounds that Mr.Lewis created on Jack. They are prety graphic, so please feel free to look away." Lexa showed the group some pictures she took out of the file she held. The jury held multiple faces of disgust and many sounds with it. 2 members looked away and held their heads between their legs. After a moment she showed the judge and Jamie and his lawyer.
"These were taken while Mr.McLoughlin was being tended to by Mr.Fichbach. No more questions your honor." Lexa beckoned me with a waving motion and we each sat down at our table.
"We will meet back here in 30 minues while the jury decides. Dismissed." The judge banged his gavel down with finality. We all stood.
A little dazed, Lexa offered us to stay in her office for the time whle she ran out and grabbed some food for the 3 of us.
"Sean." I heard Mark's voice. I listened to it and came out of my state. "Are you ok?" He asked worriedly.
"You lied to the police officer about how I got home."
"I had to honey. They couldn't know about the demons."
"No it's ok. Thanks." I smiled. Mark reached down and grabbed a bottle from Anna's diaper bag and fed the baby in his arms.
"Sean, I don't think shes feeling good."
"Hmm? Why?"
"Feel her head." Anna kept her eyes cloed as she gently sucked on the bottle. Her head was burning up.
"Geez." I leaned forward and grabbed the trashcan in front of me, putting it in front of Mark. "Just in case." I smiled.
And I was right to do that because Anna started coughing violently. Worried, I held the trashcan at Marks knee. He turned her to face the trashcan and dropped the bottle. She threw up the meal and tried to cough up more until she was dry heaving.
"My poor baby." I rubbed her back to help her until she stopped dry heaving. When she did, Mark handed her to me and picked up the bottle.
"Poor girl." Mark reached over and rubbed her back. He stopped and reached into the bag and pulled out a towel and a blanket. He laid it over my chest and the blanket on her. I kept rubbing small circles on her back.
"Hey guys." Lexa entered the room with 2 bags. She handed 1 to Mark and asked if Anna was ok.
"Actually, she's not feeling so well." He answered and looked down at the trashcan. Lexa loked at it too and grimaced. Mark grabbed the sack and tied it in a knot, leaving it.
"Thanks for the food." I smiled.
"No problem." She said back and dug into her salad.
Mark pulled out our burgers and handed one to me before unwrapping and chowing down on his.
I continued looking at him like he was nuts until Lexa laughed and looked at me. Mark looked over at me with lettuce dripping down his chin. I tried not to laugh as he took my burger and unwrapped it, handing it back to me. I still tried to keep my cool while
Mark slopily ate and smeared ketchup on his cheek.
Eventually I ate my food.
Anna was still not feeling well. I didn't want to put her in her carrier again, but I didn't want to use the wrap. Gladly, Mark took her and wrapped her around his waist.
"Thank you baby." I gave him a little kiss on the lips as we exited Lexa's office and walked to the hearing.
I grew so, so nervous. Even more before the trial started. What if the jury found Jamie in favor becausse of his mental illness? What if he was let free?
Well I mean, I doubt it because one, the jury saw what he fuckin did to me. Two, they couldn't let him free because he would be sent to a mental hospital.
Without even realizing it, we were back in the courtroom.
"Sean, put your finger under her nose." I obeyed Mark and put my finger under her nose. Her breaths were uneven. I didn't even care about the hearing anymore.
"Give her to me." I ordered Mark. He lifted Anna out of the wrap and handed her to me. I pushed her close to my chest and felt her hearbeat. It was really fast.
"Mark, we need to take her to the doctor right after this." He nodded quickly as the judge banged his gaval down and asked he jury to start.
"We find the defendant Jamie Lewis, guilty with the charges of, child endangerment, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and rape." an older member of the jury stated, then sat down.
"Jamie Lewis, I sentence you to 40 years in Irelands prison, Athlone pennitenry. Case dismissed." With a quick thank yout to Lexa, we ran out and jumped in the car not bothering with seatbelts, and gunned it to a local childrens doctor.

(Ya ik this one's long. Bc of all that court shit. It's bad, is it?)
