Haunting Me

Their love was lost, but never a forgotten one. When rekindled, it was like something new had awakened inside the both of them.
Marshall's crimson gaze slowly graced over the princes sleeping form, a groan of satisfaction escaping him as he realized he was still holding onto the beautiful man. "Mornin'.  Sleep well?"
Gumball's mouth cracked into a cute smirk as he rolled over to face the messy haired, sleepy-eyed king. They yawned  simultaneously, the vampire inching closer to his adorably sleepy  companion .
"How did you.. know I was awake, Marshall Lee?"
He blushed, pressing a cold blueish pale hand to the others almost silk like soft skin. "I guess.. I felt your heartbeat? It's kinda easy...I feel...all of your veins pumping...I guess I'm hungry. I was so upset the last few days; I just slept, and now that my body's feeling better, or feeling at all, I-I'm hungry.."
Nothing followed those words, Gumball staying still for a long moment. "You know.. that's probably the longest sentence you've ever spoken to me"
"Yeah well whatever" the king retorted, sitting up and rubbing the matted hair at the base of his neck before stretching.
"You.. can drink from me" the crimson prince swallowed hard at those words and gave a nervous laughter in reply. Pretending as if it hadn't surprised him, he rolled to the side of the bed. Gumball began sitting up with another soft yawn before the crackle of  awakening bones could be heard from his stretch.
     "Marshall? I was serious"
"Oh? Well.. dang man that's embarrassing..—"
Gumball cut him off by scooting all the way forward rather quickly. The vampire tried to swallow but his mouth had gone almost entirely dry. Gumball's eyes met Marshall Lees for what seemed like an eternity. "Juh-Just do it.. stop making it weird we are.. married.. o-or soon to be. Right?"
"Gumball.. please.." Marshall sighed as he spoke, he could feel the tension in his throat. He knew the words he wanted to say and he also knew they would come out wrong. It was to early in the morning for a fight, and that's all he seemed to do lately. Wether it be his mom or hug wolves. He was tired, and the closer Gumball pressed the more his hunger swelled and the more he would have to restrain himself.
"I'm not marrying you, I.. want something super real with you first. I don't want anything forced, not in our love life and not in our.." his voice trailed off before he cleared his throat and pushed the ball of tension down. "Private life, that is if you're comfortable even having one" The vampire realized he was blurting his words when he felt the pink princes hands raise to stop him from continuing, a sigh escaping the both of them.
"I-it's too early for this conversation right now man.. I mean.. what the glob. A few months ago we disliked each other and now.. I'm.. i.."
He waited for it, those perfect three words, but they never came. This once more left both boys in an awkward silence.
"Just do it Marshall, you've had no problem in the past—"
Before the bubbly man could continue his lecture the king pressed him to the sheets, his grip loose on him as not to make him feel forced down, but dominate none the less. Their fingers found their way together; as did their lips after only moments after. Marshall's pale thin ones pressed a soft trail of kisses down until reaching the most sensitive part of Gumball's throat. This was different then before, it never used to be this sensual and Marshall was always demanding and rough.
     "M-Marshall.. your breaths tickling me.."
Both boys chuckled, the vampire seemingly too distracted to really reply to his squirming prince. Once his fangs had penetrated the others soft, lovely tasting skin. He began, taking only a few mouthfuls. Gumball clutched at the others shoulders. The prince gave a soft whine before digging his nails into Marshall's cold skin.
It took a lot of self control not to continue, not because he was hungry, but because he loved seeing him squirm. Marshall was absolutely doing this to see Gumball's reaction, he wanted to go further. He wanted to get more reactions and hear more delectable little mewls but he wasn't sure quite yet if he had the permission. Almost as quickly as he'd started he pulled away. A smirk curled on his face before morphing into an all out giddy smile. It was quickly hidden as the boy wiped his mouth and rolled over.
"Thank you, I'm actually feeling a lot better.."
Gumball sat up with messy hair and a crimson face, shooting a halfhearted glare towards his cackling king. "Yeah yeah.. well. This is quite different don't you think? What.. what shall we do now?  I mean, you have everything you'd like right? You have my kingdoms trust, your mothers backed off and hasn't pushed our.. um.."
"Relationship" Marshall finished the word, a frown tugging at the edges of his lips. "Gumball do you want a relationship with me? Tell me the truth.. It might just be me but it seems like theres something.. different. Like you're.. not saying something you want to"
"It's not that Marshall it's just we've been through quite a lot together. All of this relationship.. talk.. it's all been a lot. And it's really sudden; us just getting back together.. my feelings for you though, they're really strong so please don't think I'm trying to distance myself or that I'm not wanting something serious"
It took Marshall Lee a moment, he wanted to mull over those words and make sure he wasn't going to say wasn't something stupid that would cause another fight, after all he'd just gotten his prince back there was no need to loose him over a petty misunderstanding.
"So what you're saying is..you want to be my boyfriend again?"
This time it was Gumball's turn to tease. He crossed his arms and shrugged, as if the words meant nothing to him. "No I'm not. I'm not saying that at all"
Marshall shot up, his brow furrowed in confusion. "Uh.. what? But I thought—"
"I haven't been properly asked yet. You can't just assume I'm your boyfriend again. You've not even properly courted me!" Now he opened an eye to see the others mouth slightly agape. This make him break down in a shrill like giggle. A tear rolled down his cheek as he laughed.
"Whatever Gumwad! I'll court you! I'll court the heck out of you!"
"M-Marshall" Gumball rolled into another fit of laughter. This time it was at the others face and the rosy bloom of embarrassment that had swelled up to even the top of his pointy ears. "Marshall.. do you even know what courting is?"
"Yeah duh, it's like.. taking to concerts in the woods and doing dumb.. romantic things like attending your little get together as your plus one"
"You're such a romantic" Marshall rolled his eyes.
"Gumball. I'll court you, or whatever.. I'll do whatever it takes to get you to be mine again. Without you I felt like a ghost. I guess I covered it up by acting like a jerk but.. I felt like I was just haunting my own body. Like I wasn't entirely here like—"
"A ghost? I know. I felt that too" A calm quiet engulfed them and this time no one broke it for a while, not even when Marshall's hands gripped Gumball's. Their love was lost, but in truth it always felt like it was there. Like it was haunting them.
