Elizabeth's POV
We arrived at the airport, and just as I assumed, 'the man' called me. I thought about letting the call go to voicemail, but I wanted to hear his heart shatter knowing he let us down once again, and there's no way of fixing it this time, so I answered. "What?" I said assertively. "Liz, listen to me please. Don't go on that plane." He said trying to convince me. "You're a drunk and a waste of space. Why would I want to stay? All you do is ruin everything. Mom gave you a second chance when I told her time and time again not to, and what did you do? Ruin it." I yelled at him. "Liz, please. You don't understand." He begged. "I understand perfectly fine, thank you. Also, I think my mind is made up, so give up already." I said hanging up the phone finally. What a waste of time.
I waited and waited, and around 5:40 p.m, our flight was called for boarding, and we were gone. Manhattan is history, and Chino Hills is my new future. I just hope things change.

All through the flight, I could hear the noises from my brother's video game and the tears falling from my mom's eyes. It hurt seeing her like this, but deep down, I knew she put herself in this position by remarrying that waste of space that is my father. I turned my head to face the window and watched the clouds drift by, and I slowly fell asleep.

3 hours later...

"Liz, wake up." Zach says tapping my shoulder. I opened my eyes, and stood up slowly. "Are we here?" I asked my mom, who clearly got no sleep at all. She smiled and replied, "Yes, we are." I grabbed my bags from above my seat, and proceeded off the plane.

As I walked into the airport lobby, I couldn't wait to see my Aunt Giselle. I haven't seen her loving smile in four years, and I've missed it. Just as I walked out the door, I heard her voice, and there she was. "Liz! Oh my god, look at you!!" She said hugging me tightly. "Hey, Aunt Giselle!! I've missed you and Cali so much!" I said hugging her back. "Ha, well Cali's missed you! Oh my..Zach is so big! I remember him being like 4 foot tall." She says laughing, and it's true. In the past four years, his previously 4'8 self is now 5'7, and he's only 14. As for me, I'm 5'5 and done growing.

After we got our bags in Giselle's small convertible, we were on our way, and I found myself more and more excited to be back. I just can't wait to get to her house and just relax.
