A Blessed Curse

Chapter 4

Soleil and Lune are standing across Maka and Soul on a clearing in the woods. Tsubaki is standing at the sidelines and has to keep Black*Star from 'joining the fight'.

"Ready..." Soleil starts.

"Set..." Maka adds.

"Go!" "Go!" Both girl shout in unison.

Soul transform into a scythe while Lune transforms into Oblivion. The other two girls easily catch the two weapons and Maka dashes forward. Soleil jumps into the air to avoid being hit before swinging the Keyblade towards the scythe Meister. Maka blocks the attack and tries to hit the white-haired girl again. Soleil can't dodge so she and Lune transform at the same time. Lune is now holding Oathkeeper and lands on the ground.

Tsubaki watches in awe at the twins switching places to dodge "They're really strong."

"What's going on here?" Kid walks to stand next to Tsubaki, Liz and Patty following him.

"Maka and Soleil decided to spar so we could see the twins' fighting style." Tsubaki explains.

"That's a pretty neat fighting style." Liz comments.

After a few minutes of attacking and dodging Soleil is getting annoyed "I think we have to go to stop holding back." She tells Lune, voice soft enough so nobody can hear that she's been holding back.

{Alright, be careful. It's very risky to release more power.} Lune warns her.

"I know."

As if Maka and Soul had the same idea the four of them shout at the same time "Soul Resonance!" {Soul Resonance!} "Soul Resonance!" {Soul Resonance!}

Soul's form changes and starts glowing. The purple stone of Oblivion starts glowing while Soleil is enveloped in a dark purple glow with a few twirls of black.

"Witch Hunter!" "Oubli Incendie!" (Oubli Incendie=Forgotten Explosion)

The light blue blast from Witch Hunter clashes with the dark purple energy from Oubli Incendie. After a few second of pushing the purple energy is victorious. Maka is hit and send flying. She lands a couple of metres from her original position crashing into a tree, dropping Soul. Lune transforms back and Soleil quickly runs to Maka to help the girl back to her feet. She knew a Soul Resonance was a bad idea.

"I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" Soleil holds at a hand.

"I'm fine." Maka grins and takes Soleil's hand so the white-haired girl can pull her back to her feet "You're really strong, Soleil. That was amazing."

"Thank you."

Soul is sitting on the ground, in his human form again "That was cool."

Lune gets comfortable on the ground, crossing her legs "Jumelle, there was no need to be worried about their well-being. We can't hurt people with a Soul Resonance if it isn't our intention, souviens?"

Soleil rubs the back of her head, a sheepish grin on her face "C'est ça. I forgot about that."

"Why are you guys always talking in riddles!?" Black*Star asks, Soleil almost forgot they were even there.

"I'm pretty sure that's French, Black*Star." Tsubaki tries to reason him.

"Well I don't speak French so it's in riddles!"

"Tsubaki is right. Lune and I are from France." Soleil points out, Lune nods. Then she turns to Lune "Speaking of which, get up, ma petite soeur."

"Nope, takes effort." Lune responds "And I'm not little."

"From where I'm standing you are."

That gives Lune the motivation to stand up "Now I'm not."

"I'm still taller."

"Whatever."

"I want to fight the French girls!" Black*Star shouts.

Soleil crosses her arms "Not happening. My lazy sister can't handle so much action."

"That's an insult, but true." Lune mutters.

"That was an impressive fight." Kid tells the twins.

"I have no clue when you got here but thanks anyway." Soleil responds.

Kid seems to notice something about her "Your eyepatch makes you completely asymmetrical!"

Soleil raises an eyebrow "Wait, what?"

"Don't mind him. He has a thing for symmetry." Liz explains.

"I see..."

Kid is having a mental breakdown that both twins are asymmetrical while Patty is laughing at him. Liz sighs and starts trying to calm him down. Lune looks confused while Soleil is just her not-impressed self.

"Ready for our first mission." Soleil asks Lune, it's night in Death City.

Lune yawns and brushes a strand of hair behind her right hair "Tell me why we had to wake up in the middle of the night again."

Soleil rolls her eyes "Because this is our first mission and, too bad for you, you have to be the Meister first because we're looking if there are any kishins and I can't sense souls."

"Ugh fine." Lune whines and holds out her left hand "Let's get over with this so I can go back to bed."

"You're so lazy." Soleil mutters. Then she takes Lune's hand and transforms into Oathkeeper {Let's kick some kishin's ass.}

Lune chuckles "Let's see if there is even kishin ass to kick." She closes her eyes and focuses on her spiritual energy. Her vision is completely black with white outlines for her surroundings. She sees the light blue human souls through the whole city and of course Soleil's silver soul (even her soul has an eyepatch). Then she notices a red soul. She opens her eyes and points on the direction of the red soul "Over there."

{Great! Now let's go and beat that kishin.}

Lune giggles at Soleil's enthusiasm "Sure."

The raven-haired girl starts moving, she's pretty fast for a lazy person, still not as fast as Soleil though.

Lune sees the kishin standing in front of a small boy. Without hestitating she dashes forward and slices the kishin. It isn't dead and now turns its attention to the teen.

"We have to make this quick to make sure the child is save. Are you with me, jumelle?" Lune asks.

{I'm always with you.} Soleil responds.

"Soul Resonance!" {Soul Resonance!}

A white light surrounds Lune, a few swirls of cyan, magenta, silver and gold twirl around her "Serment Incendie!" (Serment Incendie=Oath of Fire)
