"What are you doing here?" I ask suspiciously. Jhase looks at me sorrowfully.

"I come here to think." He sighs and looks at the decrepid building. "It was shut down after an earthquake destroyed everything inside. Except the actual foundation." Jhase pauses. He took a deep breath. I could tell he was going to tell me something personal and never told before. Totally trusting. I put a reassuring hand on his shoulder. He smiles sadly and puts his hand on mine. He wraps his fingers around mine and breathes another deep breath.

"My parents were in this building when it went down." He looks forward, not showing any emotion except the quivering of his bottom lip.

I look away, confused of what I had just heard. "They died?" I ask while tears fall down my cheeks. Jhase and I were the same. Alone.

Jhase stands and straightens his shoulders. He begins to walk away, leaving me on the steps of the Denny's. He turns back, with a determined look in his eye. "Ever since that day, I have never ran from my fears, never worried of anything but the now." Jhase looks at me, and through me. " Do you trust me, Isabelle? Because I trust you and I don't even know you yet."

Without hesitation, I stood and shook my head. "yes."

Jhase smiles, "Good."
