Tessa
What am I going to do? Where am I going to go?I am actually supposed to be in college right now, but decided to drop out.
College wasn't for me, and when I went home to tell my mom the news. She didn't take it lightly. Still don't understand how the college didn't even inform my mom about this at all. They just let me drop out.
Probably saw lack of any potential.
Flashback:
"Hey, Tess. What are you doing here? You're supposed be in college. Are you on break or something?"
She was cooking her famous lasagna. Yeah I won't be eating that for dinner. I know my mom. Pretty much education first. Everything else second.
"Hey Mom. Um about the whole college thing, can we talk?"
"Well what are doing right now honey?"
This is going to be so hard to tell her.
"No I mean that you might want to sit down for this one."
"Tessa, I'm cooking right now. Just tell me." She was stirring the sauce together. Getting ready to put the lasagna in the oven.
"OK. I.......dropped out of college."
She stopped stirring for a minute. Then continued like nothing happened.
"Haha, it sounded like you said you dropped out of college. I was scared for a second. Could you repeat that?"
She heard what I said. Just doesn't want to hear it.
"No mom. It's because I did say I dropped out of college."
She placed the saucepan on the stove. And turned around towards me.
The amount of anger in her eyes scared me. I know that she won't yell. Even at worst times, she always kept her cool.
"So you dropped out. Why?"
"Because college isn't for me."
"Bullshit. College is for you. I don't care what you say or think. I want you to go back in there and say you don't mean whatever you said."
"No mom. You can't make me. I'm an adult. I can do what I want."
She stopped. And turned back to the stove.
"Alright then. Go pack you stuff. I can't live with a quitter."
"Wait what! I think you're being a bit too rash here! Come on you have to support me."
"What did I always tell you. Education is always first. You promised me when you went to college that you will always remember that. Now you come here just to tell me that you broke it."
"Yes I know but-"
"No buts I want you out."
Flashback Ends:
I thought it was going to be temporary. I gave her 2 months.
7 months later I still haven't spoken or seen her since.
I've been staying at my friend Kristine's house. But I don't know how much longer. I'm growing up and I need to be independent. What am I going to do.
Chance's POV
Ugh my life it awesome. And I hate it. Yeah you may think I'm crazy but I'm not. My parents basically set up my life for me. They legit told me how I'm going go die and where.
Yeah I know right.
Anyways that limits me from doing the things I love. I can't go out and party because I have this bizarre schedule that keeps me from doing so.
I just want to be a normal 20 year old. Maybe get a job, do something productive. Finally be able to get a girlfriend. My parents also said I can't get one.
Yeah I know.
Right now I'm walking out on the street. I needed some time to clear my head.
I was scrolling through instagram when I bumped into someone.
"Oh, UH whoops I'm sorry-"
I looked up to see a girl. She was beautiful. We both met eyes.
"Hey"
"Hi."
"Again I'm so sorry. About that."
"It's OK. I'm Tessa."
"Chance."
"Uh what are you doing over here?"
"I live here. Not too far down. I just came to take a walk. Clear my head you know."
At this point me and Tessa are just walking and talking.
"Yeah same. I don't live far from here either. Well I technically don't live here. I live with my friend. It's kinda complicated."
"Yeah my life is basically made by my parents."
"Ugh that sucks. My story is kind of weird but you know.
"That's fine. Tell me all about it."
"OK."
Author's Note.
So that was the first Chapter everyone. I hope you enjoyed it. I'll probably update later today. So. Yeah enjoy.
