Chapter 17

Tessa

(1 year later)

Closing up the store, I walk out of Target with a Starbucks coffee in my head and bags under my eyes. Ever since I was promoted to the manager 1 month ago, it's been cutting into my personal life. But you gotta do what you gotta do. I quickly walk to my Toyota Camry, getting out of the windy area. Tiredly, I drive to the nearest sushi place as a self-reward for all the work I've done. When I arrive, I tied my hair up into a bun getting slightly annoyed by the frizzles of my hair. I step out of my car walking towards the area. Once inside, I was greeted by a waitress who led me to a table for two.

I've been alone for a while now, kind of got used to the loneliness that always seems to engulf me. I looked at the menu telling the waiter for a glass of water while I waited for the sushi to come. It wasn't long before the water and sushi came. Once I finished, I needed to use the bathroom, but as I was getting up I bumped right someone. I dropped my phone and looked over to see that the person also dropped their belongings. Being courteous, I helped the person picking up their stuff, standing I looked at the person to reveal a very very handsome man. Tall, but scrawny, brown eyes, and black hair. He also gave me a look over, smirking he took his belongings away from me.

"I am so sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going," I said.

"Oh it's no problem, it was my fault. You were simply getting out of your seat." He looked at me longer than which felt like hours.

Breaking the silence I said, "Hi, I'm Tessa, and you are?" I said extending out my hand. Shaking it, he said, "Kian."

Chance

"Babe, are you almost done yet? The party is in 13 minutes and it's an hour drive. I want to be able to at least get a drink before the party is over," I yelled.

"Yeah, I'm just putting on the straps of my shoes on. Could you come over and help?" Mai asked. Instead of answering I quickly make my way over to my beautiful wife.

"Damn!" I walked over to her and gave her a longing kiss. She smiled at me in return mouthing a "thank you" to me. I bend over and put on the straps of her black heels. I stand up giving her another kiss in the process.

"Chance, I rather just stay here and spend my evening with you. Do we really have to go?" Mai asked. I shook my head at her and gave her another kiss.

"Yes, you know how important this party is for me. It won't be bad, and we just have to show up. We can leave as soon as we get there." I started tracing her back with my fingers as I said this, "And we can have our fun." I said with a wink. She gave me a cute giggle as she wrapped her arm around my waist as I did the same to hers. We walked out of the mansion together on our way to the party.

I know a big time jump and I didn't explain what happened but everything will be explained in later chapters.

And yes I know I have not updated in months and I have plenty of opportunities to but I did not and I am sorry for that. I have just been holding this off for too long to not update for you guys. So here you go.
