Chapter 13

Tessa

I want to give up on the whole job thing right now. I can't find anything right now and it's so frustrating. But that's not even the worst part.

Over the course of this entire week, all Chance does is make out with his girlfriend. I love that he let's me stay here in all, but I don't know if I can deal with those two.

It's about 3:00 P.M. right now and I haven't set foot downstairs. And I wasn't planning to until I overheard Chance's conversation with his parents over the phone.

"Look there is so much going on. I really like Mai, but I'm not sure if I am ready to seal the deal. Why not a bit longer?" Chance says.

"Mai already said that she loves you and wants to spend her life with you. The faster the better. And it won't be bad. Your 20 almost 21, great time to get married." His Kim says.

Married! Married! Already! No no no. That can't be happening?! I listen in closer.

"I haven't even met her parents yet? When will-"

"You'll meet them at the wedding. If all goes as planned, the wedding should be soon. We got planning and everything." His mom says.

"And no arguments. Bye honey." And with that she hangs up.

Wow. He doesn't even get to plan his own wedding. That must really suck. I hear a loud groan from downstairs.

I walk out of my room and went downstairs. It's not fair for him to cope with this.

"Hey." I said as I reached him. I sat down on one of the stools facing towards him.

"Hey Tess." He replies. His head in his head.

"I heard the convo with you and your mom. You okay?" I asked.

"Yeah, I feel fine. I should feel fine. I really like this girl, so there shouldn't be a problem. But there is a problem." He pauses.

I give him a couple of seconds, but still no reply.

"What problem?" I said.

He looked up at me. Just staring at me. Studying me almost. After a few moments he answered.

"You." He finally says.

"Me? What did I have to do with anything?" Quickly replying.

"No. Ever since that kiss, and the kisses after. I feel like I'm lying to Mai. I feel so guilty, but not for kissing you. It's because I wanted more." He paused.

"And I still do." He said.

I just started at him; eyes open wide. He leaned in closer his forehead against mine.

"Tessa" he whispered.

He started inching his lips towards mine. My eyes fluttering shut. The we met contact. This kiss was different. It was hungry. We made our way out of our stools and he put me on the counter. My legs slowly wrapping around his waist.

Hands tangled in his hair while his are going all over my body.

After what seemed hours, we stopped. Well I broke the kiss. Knowing that he's getting married, this isn't the best thing to pursue.

"That was......so good." He said catching his breath.

"It really was."

Shit.
